Sharing the Season 2013

Well, here we are again, the holiday season.  Have you been good boyz or naughty boyz?  Yeah, just as I figured; naughty as hell and proud of it too!

I thought I would share some of my tree ornaments with my boyfriends, since all y'all are so damn far away.  And these are different ornaments from the ones I pictured last year.

First up, a "prize" (as Dr. Spo calls them) from a boyfriend (you know who you are).  I wanted to get a pix before I opened any of the boxes; they are full of chocolates!  And you KNOW how much I love chocolate (hormones, ya know).

First ornament, Snoopy popping out of an egg.  Talk about mixing the seasons!  This came from one of spouse's uncles, who died in July at age 89.

A deceased cousin of mine made this about 50 years ago; she made it from an egg shell and added beads and ribbon and the deer.

A pink crocheted pickle, from a deceased member of my now-disbanded knitting group.  Apparently it is a German tradition.  Who knew?

Again, with a nod to Spo, here is MY Bronner bulb with my name on it.  I purchased this in the early 80s from a co-worker at the time.

A pussycat made in Indonesia.  I forget who gave me this one.

Meredith's bell; she LOVES to bat at this ornament to hear the sound it makes.  And NO ANGEL gets its wings either!  Bwhahahahahaha!

This is the oldest ornament in my collection.  It belonged to my paternal grandfather, and it came from Manchester UK when he emigrated here.  My sister has a green star just like this one.

A (plastic) chocolate moose!  Bwhahahahahaha!

The green and white tree skirt (see above pix) was crocheted by a now-deceased co-worker back in the late 80s.  Man, there are a lot of dead people in this entry! ;-)

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL MY BOYFRIENDS EVERYWHERE!

AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PETER!

Great selection of John Lennon's "A Very Merry Christmas!" I LOVE this song. Perhaps one if not my VERY favorite. Every time I hear it I tear up. Have a Happy Christmas dear.

  7. Wouldn't it be funny if ornaments were made of chocolate. No need to store them away when the season is over. Of course, with me, not too many would be left on the tree for that special day. Hope you and Todd have a great Christmas eve and a merry Christmas day tomorrow!

  10. Ring dem bells, A.M. 'cos I'm sending you season's felicitations on the BIG day itself - whilst in no way forgetting your other half.
My furry felix-some family also wish to be included in the message, with extra sniff-sniff greetings to your own little M & N., both of whom I think must be finding your tree fascinating and irresistible, a temptation which must be investigated.

Enough for now - you've a busy-busy day ahead. See ya later! Byeeee!

    Dear AM,

Your post was lovely! As someone who keeps his tree up year-round (like the crazy people do) and whose tree has many ornaments, each with its own story, I greatly enjoyed reading about the history, provenance and memeories of your ornaments.

I believe you may be traveling upstate to visit Todd's family today; Merry Christmas and safe travels!

    Love, Janey

Last year I had a whole post I called Christmas Tree exhibition, where readers could submit trees, and I did a whole post. It was very interesting to see the personality come through.
