  1. G'day, W.Q. Back to first again (I think), where we belong.
Had a quite miserable week-and-a-half on the slo-o-o-o-w road to recovery, but got to be grateful that it IS that when others' problems are so much more profound than my passing one is. Anyway, we're getting there and that's the main thing.

Never heard of 'The Seeds', they having made no impression at all in this country. But of course you chose this because of the title, which is fully understandable given the circumstances all reasonable Americans find themselves in. May your efforts come to fruition before much (more) damage is done.

So how are you? And how are yours? Soaking up the late Spring warm sunshine amidst the colourful blooms? Could be a bit warmer here, actually, but at least it's not cold, which would be the last thing we needed.

Have a worry-free w/e with plenty of personal comforts. Regards to the man-of-the-house, as well as your trio of girls (that's a special request from my own trio of ageing 'lads') and we'll speak to you again when we speak to you again.

    Byeeeeeee!

    1. FIRST, king! this was this group's only hit; a "one hit wonder".

with RTG's and my "pre-existing conditions", we gonna die AND go bankrupt! next up - breathing is a pre-existing condition; don't laugh, it COULD happen with these asswipes!

I have good news to report - miss oreo is on the mend FINALLY! she spent another 2 days in hospital this week to cure her problem (she was not pooping). we picked her up yesterday and she has been purring/rubbing/licking us with joy ever since. and pooping.

it's been chilly here this week; rainy too. it has kept the pollen down. but I still have the heat on. this is more march than may weather.

RTG and I and the girls have been busy with house chores yesterday and today; well, the girls have been supervising and napping whilst the humans do all the work.

snorgles to all the boys in your cozy flat!

    2. A cat recovered in health is every bit as joyous as witnessing one who is suffering is depressing. Welcome back, Missy Oreo - and stay well!

Aw, so D.T. must be upset that his own favoured candidate, Madame Le Penis not La Presidente. Shucks! But at least he had the decency(!) to tweet his congrats to hottie Macron. I'm sure he was every bit as sincere as we've come to expect.

Have as nice a week ahead as you can manage amid the gloom. Salutations especially to the three furries.

    3. miss oreo is def back to her old self. macron is cute, but not as HAWT as justin trudeau of canada!

    4. Got to differ with you there, W.Q. The Canadian chappie does nothing at all for me - or my anatomy - though I do recognise that he does it for SOME. Sur l'autre main, Monsieur Macron, while not super-chaud has something of that 'je ne sais quoi' which M. Trudeau lacks. Mais, comme on dit - "Jeder nach seinem Geschmack!" :-)

    5. to each his/her own, dear raybeard. how many languages to you speak? je parle francais un petit peau. I also know a little portuguese and italian and spanish.

    6. I used to be able to get by in German, French and Spanish, W.Q. - with enough Dutch to at least understand and make small conversation. (You might recall that I lived in Germany for 3 years). Alas, without constant useage with no frequent travels it soon easily gets rusty and I'd struggle to cope adequately in any of those now - though maybe German, still just about.
I've never had occasion to touch on Italian - but Portuguese, eh? I'm impressed. So close to Spain, yet so different, certainly in sound.

    7. I have learned a few useful Portuguese words/phrases from our company's rep in brazil. I can still read French and some Spanish, but like you I have no one with whom to practice. many times as I read I will translate Spanish in my head to French then to English. yeah, it's weird, I know.

    8. I'm rather proud of a memory I have of being once in Cologne (where I was later to live), and where at the hotel was a guy from Montreal who couldn't speak English (incredible but true!) and who wanted to go onto Munich where I also had connections. I rang up my Pension there with this Montreal guy beside me, and booked him a room while translating direct from German into French for him. Couldn't do that now, at least not without many stumblings and hesitations.

I now bring an end to this thread - unless, of course, you have something to add! :-)

  2. This reminds me of the Rawhide song. 'Pushing too hard on me' could be a song for horses to sing after the whip-cracking Rawhide theme.

    1. bwhahahahahahaha! I didn't have to look up that theme; I could play it in my head!

  5. My favorite moment this week was when the House voted to repeal ACA and the Dems began singing, to the Republicans, "Na na na na, Na na na na, Hey hey, Good Bye" because this will be a weapon used against the GOP in 2018.

Sop all those who goose-stepped along with Ryan and Hair Furor might just be out of work.

My second favoirte moment this week was the GOP congressman who admitted he didn't read the bill before voting 'Yes.'

    Asshats. The lot of them,

    1. I saw this morning their "bill" is only 29 pages long; guess the GOPricks can't read. and all of the pages probably have the word NO on them. VOTE OUT EVERY MUTHAFUCKA GOPrick!
