Saturday Night Dance Party!

This is how I am feeling right now.

Dance like no one's watching.

Sing like no one's listening.

"Start Me Up" - OH YEAH, BABY!  Ain't Charlie Watts just the cutest thing?  Shake that ass, Mick!  Turn this one up L-O-U-D!

Tru fax - I used this song as the opening "everybody dance!" number at my wedding reception to spouse in 1992.

Only 45 days til...(this is gonna be great!)

DATE CHANGE: MARCH 13-16, 2014!  HAVE YOU MADE YOUR RESERVATIONS YET?  WELL WHY THE HELL NOT?  TIME'S A-WASTIN', FOOL!

  1. 'morning, A.M.,
There's no doubt to my mind that this is one of the Stones' very best single releases, and in this video they surely all look the best they've ever looked, before the decades of drink, drugs and debauch started being written all over their faces, to add to the natural appearance of their advanced years.
But this is a classic - and there could hardly have been a finer choice for the start of your wedding dancing and your married life.
It was shortly after this was shot that, during one of their world tours I happened to be in Munich and they were playing there at the Olympic stadium to the north of the city. I was out one evening doing a bar crawl with one of my German friends (with whom, incidentally, I still have contact) when, despite the venue being a good four miles from the city centre the amplified sound (plus the prevailing wind at the time, no doubt) carried so well that we couldn't hear each other speak! - and it was this song I remember most of all from that incident. I didn't mind one bit, though residents may well have objected - AND we got to hear it for free!

  4. You new blog background brings me back to my days as a Victoria's Secret BEAUTY District Manager - all my stores were draped in pink/white striped wallpaper then they went to the black paint and blk crystal chandeliers look. Barf!
