Saturday Night Dance Party!

This is how I am feeling right now.

Dance like no one's watching.

Sing like no one's listening.

"Can't Get You Outta My Head" - you are crammed in there with all the other useless trivia I have retained over the years!

8/4/12 - 8/2/14*****my blog is now a terrible two year old!  my first post was here (for those of you who have joined the party late in the season).  What a helluva ride this has been!  Let's see what's around the next bend, shall we?

You've excelled even yourself with this choice - which would still take my vote as the best pop record AND best video of the last 20 years, but then in my books the worshipful Goddess can do no wrong. It's inconceivable that she could. She's due to appear at the Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony in Glasgow tomorrow night - a multi-event international Games second only to the Olympics - though I dare say that many outside the former British Commonwealth will not have heard of them. Anyway, the song here is magic - and rarely has there been a pop song where the lyrics so perfectly match the tune which, without those same lyrics, would have seemed anodyne and forgettable. But they mix to perfection.

So, many congrats to you for the day after tomorrow. In those two years you've now accumulated more followers than I have in over five. Still, just goes to show which of us has the more interesting one - and it sure ain't me!

Today is Brighton Pride Day - the biggest parade in the country outside London's. Trouble is, after a series of perspiration-pouring days it's now raining! I haven't been for something like 5 years and the temptation is grabbing me to give it a go, despite the moistness, and do a bit of snapping. But I don't know. Would mean leaving Blackso here still in his sleeping-under-the-cars mood. I'll have to decide within the next hour.

    'Til next time, then,
    Byeeeeeee!

    1. eh, kylie was next on my list. since we used to be part of the british empire, do we send a team? just curious.

but some of MY followers have begun to follow YOUR blog; we all feed off one another.

this morning is a slow one; spouse is out in the yard doing his gardening thing, I just started the dishwasher. later we will go out together and run some errands and have a late lunch.

    2. The Games closed last night but it was on far too late for me - the ceremony only started at 9 p.m., for crying out loud! Don't these people ever need to sleep? Will have to do a bit of catching up via the BBC website. Wouldn't bother if it weren't for Kylie.

You actually make a valid point re having an American team (or not, as the case actually is). Most of the participating countries have long since gained their independence from Britain - including India, Australia, Canada, Malaysia - but they are still members of the British Commonwealth even though the title has little meaning other than a cosy 'club' nowadays - and as the USA is not part of this said 'old boys' network, sadly, it doesn't qualify - though there's also some relief as if you were part of it you'd be dominating most of the events - again!

I'm flattered to know that I'm getting attention to my blog through you - though I'd imagine and trust that it works in both directions. Share and share alike, I say.

and yeah, we would prob dominate the games, so it's best we stay home.

    4. You can only 'have' J.G. for a while, A.M. I want him back 'cos he's far too precious and rare to pass around like a slut. Oh, mind you, having said that.....

    5. heh heh heh, I'm not john's type. I don't have a mustache like chris'.

    6. Had second thoughts about what I just said. Hope you didn't see it. Nothing about you - it's what I said about J.G., whom we ALL love so much, right?
