Oh my God, A.M. Stunned. My heart goes out to you and to those who knew this dear man personally. He was only known to me for a short while - same age, and unmet, of course - but he made a lasting impression. I grieve for his passing and will carry a heavy heart around for at least the rest of today, and probably much longer. Sleep well, C., Blessings on you.
We have only the slightest knowledge of your friend through what you have written here. But, it is clear that you have given much moral and emotional support in what must have been very dark days and, we suspect, even darker nights.
It is with sadness that we read of his death and we hold you close in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. At last the suffering is over and that must be a comfort and blessing to all who knew him.
hi new friends. wayne was ill the past 2 years with cancer. in his blog, he described everything he went thru just to live. he gave THE BEST hugs EVER!
Nobody should have to endure what brave, Wayne went through. I'm grateful that he had compassionate friends like you and the beautiful people at "Dos Locos." and his new friend, Calvin, who made a special trip just to lend his support.. From reading his post, I know The Cajun was extremely grateful and cheered.
I am aware that this is your blog and if you delete this comment, I'll understand. But, frankly, I am upset that, "this larger-than-life martyr" (Wayne's words in his final post) is accepting condolences on his blog and, as usual, making it all about himself, even cleverly casting insults on Wayne's character . I just don't understand. Didn't these commenters read The Cajun's final post?
I apologize for the vent, but I had to get it out of my system.
Oh Anna Marie........i never knew your blogger friend Cajan, but know you enjoyed him, and had some good times. I am sorry to ser this. Hopefully he is now at peace amongst long ago friends.
Some people come into our lives and quickly go. They awaken us to a new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. They stay in our lives for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never ever the same.
I looked forward to Wayne's comments. Once he had my email he would email directly correcting grammar and other errors on a post or picture. Wayne fought the good fight, he finished the course, he kept the faith.
well, since cajun was from new orleans, and so was louis armstrong...and I have heard this song played by a funeral band on the return trip from the cemetery...yeah. the cajun is now a saint.
I just saw on Peter's blog.
ReplyDeleteWayne is up there in the big Mardi Gras parade now..... out of pain and his next chapter just beginning.
that's how I found out too. I am glad I got to meet the cajun in person 2 years ago.
DeleteWish I had had the pleasure of his company too. I've been a longtime reader of this blog tho.
