This is how I am feeling right now.
Dance like no one's watching.
Sing like no one's listening.
"Hip to be Square" - why the hell not!
And just because I can:
"Hip to be a Square"- an old Sesame Street ditty!
PS - Please to be welcoming some new friends to my world: Hattatt, Randomization of Me, She Who Seeks, The Camouflaged Man, The Japing Ape!
Am I first? Raybeard????
ReplyDeleteOn a sidenote, in high school I was called a square with rounded corners.
I'll take it.
Have a faboosh weekend AM!
I'm not in premier position this week, Bob. Been piss-farting around trying to get my DVD player to work, which computer chappie said was now 'fixed' - and that was last August! Since then I forgot about trying it until Retired Ron in Delaware showed us videos of Mulholland Drive, L.A. and I had the notion of trying to watch that like-titled David Lynch film on a freebie DVD I've had for years. (Saw the film at the cinema on its release - and even then I knew it required multiple viewings). But so far still can't get the goddamn player to play the blinkin' thing! So there you are! - my reason for not being quicker on the draw this week.
DeleteI wish I could send you my DVR. I just recorded 'Mulholland Drive' on it!
DeleteThanks for the thought, Bob, but solve the problem we shall!
Deletecongrats, bob, on being first this week! a square with rounded corners is a circle. unbroken.
Deletesorry, king raybeard, but electronics are not part of my many talents. that sux! :(
DeleteNo, nor mine (as you can gather), A.M.. I'm a firm believer in paying others to do what you can't or don't want to do yourself. Trouble is, it needs dosh.
DeleteFun video! I always liked Huey Lewis and the News.
ReplyDeletethat band had FABULOUS videos. and huey is easy on the eyes.
DeleteNow here is a song I remember from my youth! And I see we share so the the same great company!!!!! All to be adored!!!!!! All witty and wise. Happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I so can not type today........
Deletewhat, drunk again? :)
DeleteThe song was really popular when I lived in Dallas. I'll have to check your new friends. Have a great weekend. I hope our snow doesn't end up there.
ReplyDeletesnow? YUCK! we are supposed to have rain on monday; yesterday our temp was 81 F.
DeleteAft'noon, A.M.
ReplyDeleteReason for my tardiness this week is above. Still frustrated, but that's by the by.
Didn't know this chirpy little number at all (reached #41 here in '86) but it's a pleasant little mover. I never ever watched 'Sesame St'. which, although shown here, never caught on in a big way. And I think this cartoon version of the song is more watchable than the real-life one.
Hope all are well, just as we all are.
Now must go and continue catching up on reading blogs I've missed because of....well, above.
See ya!
Btw, A.M. Any idea what's going on with Sassybear? Hasn't posted for two weeks and is conspicuous by his absence. Getting concerned, though don't want to raise any (needless?) alarm - yet.
Deletespring is mos def here in my world. will post some new pix later. I will e-mail sassybear and see what's what.
DeleteI was thinking of e-mailing S/b myself, A.M., but I thought you might have known anyway. Thanks, though.
DeleteI loved Huey Lewis & The News back in the day. One of my favorite songs was "I Want A New Drug". :-)

I've always been a fan of Huey Lewis and the News. They're on my list of bands I want to see in concert. I hope you're having a FABULOUS weekend! XOXO
ReplyDeleteweekend has been good so far. today (sunday) is chore day for me, mainly 3 loads of laundry.
DeleteI was a square, who got away with shit under cover of squareness.
ReplyDeletereally? I have always been different and only within the last 20 years have learned to embrace that squareness. and I don't give six shits if people h8 me because of my different!
DeleteMy favorite Huey Lewis song is "I want a new drug". Interesting story behind that that involves the Bee Gees. This one is cool, too!
ReplyDeletePeace <3
Jay
ooooooooooooooh, now THAT'S a story I'd like to hear!
DeleteI think I'd rather sit on a square than a circle. How about you?
ReplyDeleteI'd rather sit on huey lewis' face! :)
