This is how I am feeling right now.
Dance like no one's watching.
Sing like no one's listening.
"Open Your Heart To Me" - vintage Madonna!
AND AND AND tomorrow is my 61st birfday. It was Labor Day 1954; my egg donor labored and gave birth to me at 10:30a, 6.5 pounds. WTF happened? :)
To see some other people who share my day, go here.
So what am I doing to celebrate?
At some point this weekend, spouse will take me out for cock-a-tails (a nod to the Mistress) and dinner.
Wish we could get away someplace, but no money stops us.
So let's dance our asses off instead!
Can you do the walk, do the walk of life.
I told you, homeboyz, U can't touch this!
Her hips don't lie, but MINE do! Damn arthritis!
I'm all right, don't nobody worry 'bout me (RIP, Jay).
I hope you have a wonderful birthday!! Have a cosmo or three for me... smooches!ReplyDelete
dingdingding, my first commenter! thank you, dear, and I WILL! hope you and jeff are doing ok. smooches back doubles!Delete
Happy Birthday dear! I hope your b'day is wild and crazy and happy and is one terrific blow out day!!ReplyDelete
Hugs and smiles, and wishes for your new age year to be a blow the hub caps off unbelievably fantastic!
at my age, it's more like quiet and low-key day. smooches!Delete
Happy Birthday for tomorrow, Your Ladyship! Your spouse is an amusing fellow, so you'll be happier than many who share your birthday.ReplyDelete
thank you, noble ape! have an extra banana in my honour!Delete
Obviously this holiday weekend was created in your honor. Savor the celebration - and have a fantastic birthday! Cock-a-tails and dinner sound fine to me. The greatest gifts are those of love, happiness, friendship, and cherishing each day.ReplyDelete
Luv ya, Jon
I gave the country a 3-day weekend just to celebrate MEMEMEMEME! I HAVE THE POWER! loves ya back doubles!Delete
M'ning, A.M. - and especial felicitations for your big day on the morrowReplyDelete
Have a super-duper one!
We're slow off the starting blocks this week - though the main reason being that it's taken me over 90 mins to type half a dozen lines on this oft-freezing computer to my nephew living in Vienna (which is shortly going to be the next focus of the seemingly insoluble refugee problem). So far for you the computer seems to be behaving. Stay that way, please.
You give us some true golden oldies today - I must single out the first two. Madge was at her absolute best in those early years. Then it was downhill all the way (though I did like 'Ray of Light' a lot, her last album that I bought).
As for the Dire Straits - well, it doesn't get any better than this!
And, btw. wasn't Mr Loggins a real hottie in his time? Phwarrrrrr!
All well with you? Good.
Autumn is edging in after our decidedly indifferent 'Summer' - not exactly BAD but not one that lives up to its name.
And the good news is that, getting cooler, Blackso has stopped disappearing for hours on end, even spending recent entire nights indoors where he uses a large cardboard box lined with newspapers I've put for him at the top of the stairs.
It'll be far too early for you to have downed the first of those 'beverages' that hubby has intended for you. But when they start do lift some of them to good times ahead and gratitude for some lovely memories which I'm sure you have - and you will.
Have a particularly wonderful w/e, with everything done in moderation - well, most things at least.
smooches and hugs, king! and thanks for the e-mail update.Delete
I second you on madonna; it seems she lost her way by 2000, and probably many fans also. I could see fearsome beard going for the likes of kenny loggins.
we are still in summertime temps here; 90F and above this past week. blackso would still be outside if he lived here; good to hear his common sense has returned.
just got home from indulging in 2 raspberry martinis and some shrimp and lobster for dinner...now spouse and I need a nap! no moderation in this house this weekend!
kiss the pussies one and all for me! and a big old SMOOCH to you also!
Thanks, A.M. Will do as you say, and a HUGE one back to you on this, your b/day morn.Delete
