Saturday Night Birthday Party!

This is how I am feeling right now.

Dance like no one's watching.

Sing like no one's listening.

"
TSOP (The Sound Of Philadelphia)" - what better way to celebrate our country's birthday that started in my city YO!  RECOGNIZE!

Dance on, my brothers and sisters, dance on!

  1. G'day, W.Q.
What limp bodies - and WHAT fashions! Goodness me! They call the 70s "the decade that taste forgot" and this illustrates just that.
I see this bouncy number topped the Billboard charts for 2 weeks in '74, only rising to just a humble #22 over here.

So how are you this Philly b/day w/e? Well I hope it finds you.
All fine here though Blackso still giving me an almost daily heart attack, going missing for about 15 hours, ungainly 'walk' and all - and me searching foliage in the night with torch and calling for him like someone demented, giving me a sleepless night, and then turning up at 6 a.m. with his thinned-out fur containing so many burrs from wherever he'd been sleeping that it took an awful long time to pick them all out. But he's back and that's the important thing.
Otherwise fine - apart from disappointing temps while we look for another mini heatwave which isn't in the forecast.

So usual effusive greetings to all five of you. 'Speak' to you later.
    Byeeeeee!

    1. FIRST for king raybeard; all hail the king!

the brothers and sisters knew how to dress better than us. I LOVE those outfits.

I have a 4 day weekend; RTG has to work on monday and is off tuesday. RTG was able to hop back on his tractor to mow the grass yesterday; said it felt good to be human again.

wonder where blackso goes visiting? perhaps he has a girl/boy friend.

saturday was hot and humid; we did nothing outside (other than RTG going out early morning to mow). today we went out for lunch. tomorrow I will do house chores while all is quiet. tuesday we are hoping to have a BBQ. wednesday it's back to reality.

snorgles and smooches to all at your flat!

    2. We all thought those 70s outfits were 'normal' way back then, W.Q. - and so they were. Can't believe that I actually got myself into a pair of loon pants, despite my body just not being of the right proportions for it. Thank goodness there are no photos of the crime!

Blackso gives me a daily heart attack with his long absences to God-knows-where. It's the increased vulnerability with his weak, uncontrolled legs that worries me most. How can he jump up? Yet he somehow manages it. And he surely isn't able to run. While his fur goes on falling out he makes what's left of my own hair turn white and drop like Autumn leaves. He now looks brown from a distance - a mixture of his remaining black fur and white skin underneath. I'm pretty sure he hasn't got any new friends as he now appears a bit scary, as well as scrawny despite him eating well.

Btw: D.T. is coming to Europe this week, where he'll have the chance to cosy up to best boyfriend Vlad the ImPutiner. It must be such a long time since they've seen each other, they're going to need some private time together! (Wink wink!) But rumour has it that there's a mysterious 'window of opportunity' in D.T.'s diary and he's going to use it to sneak in to this country before protests can be effectively mobilised, have a quick tea with Her Maj (and, no doubt, get her to kneel before him in adulation) and make a hasty exit. If it happens I shouldn't think there'd be any chance of that 'golden coach' moment, though. But watch this space!

Salutations from my three + me to you and your four!
      Have a very fine week.

    3. Update: Government spokesman has said that they are "not aware" of any intended visit from D.T. over the coming weeks, but when it's been agreed details of such will be issued "in due course". I still wouldn't put it past the wily one to make an unannounced lightning stop-over to these shores, just to score a point.

  2. While I did have platform shoes and elephant bells, I can guarantee that I never danced like that.

  3. OMG. I wonder how many of them have had hip replacements! I feel exhausted just watching it.
I am imagining you and hubby doing da funk (I said funk) round the house tonight. Enjoy!
