This is how I am feeling right now.
Dance like no one's watching.
Sing like no one's listening.
"Volunteers" - almost 50 years old and STILL true today! "Look what's happening out in the streets, Got a revolution, Got to revolution!"
RESIST, INSIST, PERSIST, ENLIST! (thank you Hillary!)
ORGANIZE! MOBILIZE! TAKE A KNEE! RAISE A FIST!
CALL OUT THE H8! EVERYWHERE! RIGHT FUCKING NOW!

Today is going to be our first day lifted out of the horrific deep-freeze into which we were plunged about 10 days ago, W.Q. - ENORMOUS relief - so I've a good idea how you'll be feeling once that impeachment process gets under way. BUT there's always the scary possibility that it could come back to ruin our Spring or even the Summer - so I equally know how you'd feel should a Pence Presidency become more likely. However, taking one thing at a time, priorities, priorities!
ReplyDeleteSalutations to you, RTG + the three puss-keteers.
Do have a specially nice w/e, all of you - on Patchie's orders!
KING RAYBEARD IS FIRST! :)
Deletefriday started out bad - evil snowstorm. I left work early. by yesterday, the snow was gone due to a warm sunny day. I think my spring flowers are confused.
another sunny day today. we just returned home from lunch (mexican). RTG worked 1/2 day yesterday; I did house chores sat/sun, RTG did chores this morning. and he made a pot of turkey noodle soup.
the puss-keteers are on the sunporch sleeping (so what else is new). we have the baseball game on the radio (spring training game; doesn't count). back to the work benches tomorrow.
hope you and patchie are seeing some spring signs in the UK!
Saw my first daffs of the year this morning. They must have been hiding until it was safe to emerge. Much more typical March weather now, thanks.
DeleteSalutations to all.
I have snowdrops blooming. daffs, hyacinths, tulips are poking their green stems above ground, but no blooms yet. and guess what we are getting tuesday night? more fucking snow! :(
DeleteYes, I've noticed your rather alarming fall in temps on the global weather charts I see every morning. I hope you're not getting a taste of the same 'Beast from the East' (i.e. Siberia) that we experienced - though for you it could more likely be the 'Pest from the West'. Let's hope not, W.Q.
DeleteRTG and I have off tomorrow; big ass snowstorm coming in overnight. pussie girls and their humans will be safe sheltered in place.
DeleteWhat an insane week right? Trump and Pence have to fall soon one would think???? It amazes me our country and the other polictians are putting up with this non sense and playing with lives.
ReplyDeleteand they don't fucking care about you and me. just wait til november...
DeleteThe daily headlines are un-frickin-believable.
ReplyDelete50 years?!?
"One generation got old
One generation got soul
This generation got no destination to hold
Pick up the cry"
start the revolution!
DeleteHope. Hope is from the youth.
ReplyDeleteSupport, donate, participate, stand, join, march, speak, resist, vote.
Complacency is complicit.
and silence = compliance! NO SILENCE!
DeleteBoogie on!
ReplyDeletelet the sunshine in!
DeleteWorkin’ the hippy vibe in the video. Love it. I felt like taking all my clothes off and dancing to this one (perhaps later). Ray beard has already eloquently described what has been going on in the neck of the woods. Thankfully a thaw is a coming.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend x
JP
"I felt like taking all my clothes off and dancing to this one" - I'd pay good money to see THAT! ;-)
Deletewe had a nasty snowstorm on friday; I left work early (a good thing). by yesterday, most of it had melted due to a warm sunny day.
BESOS to you and guido (and his hose)!
First off, for Raybeard, this slayed me:
ReplyDelete"the three puss-keteers."
Secondly, just stand up, speak up, act up, vote,
That's the way out of this mess.
I KNOW; wasn't THAT a great reference?
Deletewe gotta keep screaming til we are heard and RECOGNIZED!
This song only makes me want to hit a hookah and try to get through this mess.... and getting worst of a country.
ReplyDeletesmoke 'em if ya got 'em!
DeleteLove this song. Love the 'airplane.'
ReplyDeletelook at how young they were! some of them are now gone.
DeleteWhat a classic! Every time I think it can't get worse, it does. I have hope and I vote. RJJS
ReplyDeleteme too; but the kids are not backing down, and neither should we!
DeleteAlmost fifty years! Almost fifty years and STILL relevant! Maybe even more so.
ReplyDeleteMr. Airplane is groovy
ReplyDeleteI was too young to attend woodstock; this is the next best thing.
DeleteYou do know I have this on vinyl, right? I loved it when they changed to Jefferson Starship for the Blows Against the Empire album. I have that, too.
ReplyDeletea child of the 60s SHOULD have this on vinyl! :)
