    1. Mitchell, if you don't mind my asking, why is your head in your derriere?

    2. Oh, Deedles. My head, at least today, is not up my derriere. But after that little surgery yesterday, shaking ANYTHING makes my head hurt. AND it hurts when I smile (so cut it out!)

    3. @mitchell - DO NOT shake your head.

      @deedles - you bad, gurl.

@spo - looking at mitchell's blog pix made MY head hurt.

  5. I'll have to play the video a little later, W.Q. as I'm currently listening to a run down of Madge's 20 biggest U.K. hits in 'honour'' of her turning 60 - and, goodness me, there really are some goodies among them (before she went completely off the rails). But I'm sure that you want to join me in wishing her all the very best for her future years considering all the pleasures she's given us over some decades.

And wishing YOU a lubberly w/e as your temps drop to a near-tolerable level. And all the best to the 'other' four as well.
Patchie and I send our wishes - as does Blackso2, who seems to have decided that he'll move in as well, both eating and sleeping here.

    1. yep, madge used to matter. the 80s and 90s were good to her. now she just sucks.

it's been a loverly nice week here; I got to turn the air conditioner off and open the windows!

we saw RTG's primary care MD yesterday; he said "all looks good" and wants to see him in 6 weeks. on thursday, we see the surgeon for a progress report.

the cats have been good nurses.

now what is THIS - blackso2? how and why and where and when? pix? details, man! and what does patchie have to say about the matter?

    2. Yes, for about 2 weeks this collarless, all-black adult has been practically living here - i.e. sleeping and eating every day (and night). Not even sure it's a tom, and I'm too embarrassed to look, but wherever it's come from he's(?) house-trained, well-behaved and likes me to stroke him. Looks healthy enough. When he started to try to come in Patchie used to send him packing. Now Patchie's given up though they are still very cagey about each other. In fact Blackso even tried to give P a wallop the other day so he's started to stand his ground. Of course the question of his health and a vet arises. He doesn't have any fleas that I've found up to now in my regular combings of them both. Problem - 2 weeks today I visit my sister (turned 80 yesterday) whom I've not seen for 2.5 years, so I'll be away for 5 days. Patchie's booked into a cattery but, with such short notice I can only shut Blackso out and hope that for those few days at least he'll return to his proper home. He'll be welcome to return here when I'm back (but of course!). As for photo, you'll have to try to imagine an all-black adult cat. Shouldn't be too hard. I'll post a pic with my upcoming birthday posting in 6 weeks time, if not before.

I noticed on this morning's weather map forecasts you're likely to be baking again in the next day or two. It's being quite an endurance test for you. Our heatwave is long over, looking like that's it for this Summer, but it's not getting cold, which is fine, just the way we like it. It's a public holiday today, our last before Xmas, with annual children's parade along the seafront. If it had been yesterday's weather it would have been called off for sure - constant heavy rain and wind. No rain today, pleasantly cool.

Good to hear what's happening on the RTG front (and inside). Looking forward to hearing of continued progress.

Regards from me, P & B. have a jolly nice week ahead.

    3. well, how nice to have a new friend! yes, I can imagine an all black kitty.

and we are back in the damn heatwave. the air conditioner is back on - home, work, car. my eyes are irritated.

now for some good news - my annual eye checkup is completed, no problems on the horizon. RTG has graduated to a cane as of today, but the walker must be used at night and upon waking. 2 weeks almost since the surgery and he walks with much less of a limp now.

pet your pretty kitties for me and the girls!

    4. I've given both pussies a loving stroke or two from you, W.Q.

Good to hear your health news for you and RTG. Grateful for small mercies, s'pose.

My last eye-test (in the Spring) said that I'm showing initial signs of developing cataract(s), whether one eye or both I didn't ask. I wouldn't have guessed it as I notice no fall-off in vision but it would have to happen sometime for a lot of people - and I am early 70s, after all. Not too worried about it - yet.

Now give your own 3-some a cuddle from the 3 of us, please.
