  4. They'd love these songs way over in Thigh-land - helped by supping on a generous draught of 'black water'.

  5. Thanks for the shout out, Carebear. I love most of these artists and that is my favorite En Vogue song. I had no idea that Aretha did it first, and did it well I might add. Watching Dizzy Gillespie blow always made my cheeks hurt! Etta James, yes ma'am! Most of these remind me of my father's record collection. I have cd called Country, Rhythm and Blues. A lot of fine duets on it. Marty Stuart and the Staple Singers doing The Weight is a particular favorite of mine. Very nice choices today almighty Carebear!

  7. Hope you having a good weekend down south. I could never take Lionel Richie for some reason. But I love Etta James, and I believe the mistress does Giving Him Something He Can Feel , nightly at the Casa, and has it on a tee shirt too. I think I have her convinced to come back for another visit. I may have to sell the house alas.

  9. oHHHHH Anita O'DAY!!!!!! The Gene KRUPA & Anita O'DAY Let Me Off Uptown is one of my all time favorite music moments. We need to take time back to then, when the gals and guys were all hip cats and the good times rolled. I have posted that clip many times myself.

  10. Paul Robeson had such a great voice, take a listen to him singin' 'Summertime,' from Porgy and Bess.
