Saturday Night #BlackLivesMatter Protest Party! (Part 12)

This is how I am feeling right now.

In memory of Daniel Prude.

"As people exercise their right to protest all across the country––let the undeniable paths of our progress be a guide going forward: peaceful, sustained protest; strategic, committed organizing; and purposeful, overwhelming participation at the ballot box.” - Barack Obama, August 2020

PS - HAPPY BIRTHDAY (September 13) to Linda, (September 16) to Robzilla, and (September 18) to Jeffrey Breen (Sean's husbear).

Kicking it old school this week.

  2. As the day of the world's - and especially YOUR own - salvation inches closer, we celebrate in anticipation, though not without some nervousness on whether it will actually come to pass as you-know-who throws EVERYTHING and EVERYONE at it to prevent it happening. But even if it does, still enormous concern here about those 2.5 months following, as his unbridled spite and boundless need for revenge will be unleashed as never seen before. Additionally, of course, not overlooking our earnest hope that SCOTUS member Ms Ginsburg can hang on until at least end Jan. But let's not get ahead of ourselves, and keep our fingers, thumbs and toes crossed for the outcome all sensible persons desperately hope for.

Have a nice w/e, though with all those horrific Pacific states conflagrations ever high in our minds.

  3. Oh, my... you got my memory machine working overtime, lady. Johnny Bristol (so very Barry White, but sexy af), I actually learned and did the hustle... so funny. Never understood why Amii Stewart failed to have more hits... she was fierce. No one can touch the Ojays... they simply were one of the best. Corneilius Brothers and Sister Rose. Always loved The Undisputed Truth. Both class acts. Don't Disturb This Groove... indeed. Thanks, darlin'. You made my weekend.

  6. Ah, Eddie Floyd. For years I thought Wilson Pickett sang that song. The Hustle takes me back to my wedding reception in '75. I had no rhythm in public, but I could do dances that had clearly defined steps :) This post has brought up some very nice memories.

  10. Thank you my friend. I get to celebrate another birthday. Too many people do not because of the color of their skin. Black lives matter!

  11. Another life cut way too short. I hope in another life or universe they are living the best damn life possible. Man, oh, man it makes the heart ache thinking about how much hate people have for someone just because of their skin color. Take care.

  13. This abomination in the White House is just a Symptom of a larger problem clearly festering in America and it troubles me. This Election is not going to solve it, there is much work to do.
