Sharing the Season (Part 3)

While not as flashy as Mangina's gift, I can challenge my inner Martha Stewart with these prezzies.

Spouse chose well.  Anyone jealous yet? :-b

It's not that I didn't already HAVE these items, but I wanted an extra set of measuring spoons/cups.  And I burned out the motor of a hand mixer years ago (why yes, I WAS using the mixer for its intended purpose; get yer naughty minds outta da guttah!), so this is a replacement.  For most recipes, I will still mix by hand; no electricity needed!

I also received a book 13 years in the making!  Signed by the author too!

Spouse volunteers at the Stoogeum, and the author also is a partner in keeping the museum running.  It's a "then and now" book.  Some good reading for me!

Hope all my boyfriends had a good holiday! :)

  1. Hah, I got a handmixer, too. We should have a cyber bake-off! I made chocolate cupcakes yesterday. I even used it to scramble eggs for breakfast this morning.

  2. I have a friend who tells the story of her first Christmas with her now-husband. They had only been dating maybe 5 or 6 months, and for Christmas he bought her a dishwasher. Paid to have it installed in her house and everything. She was so thrilled. She said that's how she knew he was going to marry her. And she was right! She kept saying, that's not a "girlfriend" gift, that's a "wife" gift. You don't buy the bimbo you're banging a kitchen appliance. You buy the woman you're going to have all your meals with for the rest of your life a kitchen appliance.

I was so moved by that, that last year, my first Christmas with my now-husband Chris, I bought him an electric frying pan. He does the majority of the cooking. I know there was no doubt in his mind of how serious I was about him, but I wanted to make sure that within the sexy and personal gift-mix, there was also something that said "forever, in the real world" like that.

I love your gifts. Happy New Year to you and your husband! XO

    2. Chris and I got married in September. We've decided not to use the actual date as our Anniversary date though, we're going to celebrate on August 21st.

Chris is a fabulous cook, and has a food blog designed for people that are just starting out to make some easy changes for better health. it's thefoodyouchoose.com
He is a very good cook, and loves to do it. He does some occasional work for a chef he used to work with that has a catering company.

Thanks for the smooches! Right back at you! XOXO
