Such an evocative song for me as it came out when I had the hottest-looking friend I've EVER had - like a little hairy bear. Never close enough to be truly termed 'boyfriends', he was still living with his partner at the time (though that ended soon after). We went to Paris together to see if things would work out if we took it further. And boy, how we fought! My pussies with their claws out had nothing on us! That was the last time I saw him or even corresponded with him. (Sob sob!) So that's what this song reminds me of - in no way painful, or even unpleasant, but EXTREMELY poignant. Though I suppose you have nothing but happy memories about it, if any at all, A.M.?
well, when this song was on the charts, I had decided to separate from spouse #1 and I was going out having a good time dancing and living. I didn't have another guy at the time, I just went out by myself.
I wore those SAME Ray Bans (Wayfarers) when that song came out..... Back in my dancing days at "The Copa" in Key West. (I was 10 by the way, we will leave it at that!) LOL!
Anne Marie: Here's what's so funny about that. My 14-year-old son likes a lot of music from the 1980s. He told me that he really liked that song. (You have to admit, the guy can sing.) I had to explain the Rick-Roll prank to him. I told him that it's OK to like that song, but he's likely to get laughed at if he reveals this to his friends. :-)
