Brain Puke XIII (Lucky #13)

Lots o shit swirling around in the toilet bowl that is my brain. Let's capture some of it here.

OMB, it's been over a week since the spo-a-rama-lama-ding-dong and the attendees are still feeling the high!  A more potent drug you never will find!  That 20-25 people could come together with nothing more in common than a blog post and have discovered so many shared/similar circumstances amongst themselves is nothing short of splendid!  (damn, I outdid my alliteration skills on that sentence!)  (sings) We had a gay old time!

Other people have posted photos/short stories about the event, so I will not repeat the same.  However, it appears that some new friends took pix of me that actually turned out quite complimentary.  Now to bribe them into giving me copies...(rubs hands together with evil grin)

Let's all hope the SCOTUS does the proper thing and make same-sex marriage the law of the land.  What's taken all y'all so damn long?

3/31 is the day chocolate bunnies and marshmallow chicks and black (only) jelly beans jump into mouth and travel right to my hips!

Some of my friends have experienced loss this past week. :'(

I think I need a day off work to recover from being overwhelmed.  I want a day where I can bake things (like quiche and mac-n-cheese and pound cake) and knit and get laundry finished and grocery shopping done.  Baking quiets my hyper-speed mind.  And thank bob for dishwashers!  So this Friday, look out kitchen!

Baseball season opened for me on 4/1, and it was no April Fool's joke.  We sucked major ass.  Our spring training was 50/50.  Nope, not gonna be a good season AT ALL.

Work is boring me to death right now.

It's nice to wake up to birdie chirps again.  And it keeps my cats amused.

My allergies will NOT quit, and I have had a few asthma attacks in the past 2 weeks.  Filthy pollen!

Spouse and I had mexican food on 3/31, because NOTHING says happy chocolate bunny day like mexican food!

So some bitch in GA is saying "str8 people are going to pretend to be gay to get marriage benefits".  SAY WHAT?!?  You can't make this shit up if you tried!

Coming home from MIL's house on Sunday, I saw 2 trucks advertising Kim Kartrashian's perfume.  Probably smells like skank ass.

It stays light until 8p now - YAYZ for longer dayz!

All is dark and quiet outside my house at 2a; guess I should get some sleep, huh?  Wish I had a hunk or two to sandwich me...

UPDATES

"Pat Robertson explain that miracles happen with greater frequency in Africa because there are no Ivy League schools." - SAY WHAT?!?  You can't make this shit up if you tried!

Would someone PLEASE explain to me why some businesses close on the Friday before chocolate bunny day, but NOT on Passover (unless you are Jewish) or Eid al Adha (unless you are Muslim) or Diwali (unless you are Hindu)?  Seems like a blurring of the separation of church and state to me; end it!

Still winter here, chilly days and nights.  Uh, I thought it was spring...

  1. This is a very revealing post, A.M. Not your usual style - and I'm NOT complaining.
As you suggest at the start, despite some of the negativities you disclose are troubling you, you're still in the post-bloggerama clouds. Tell me, did your hubby get jealous at all the attention you received? Or maybe he was so used to it already.

I'm with you on Mexican food - my fave too (but, of course, it has to be veggie) - and washed down with a modestly GIANT-sized carafe of Margarita (salt round the rim, please!).

Here's also another hay-fever sufferer - itchy eyes being the worst part for me. Such a nuisance. It normally starts in March but as we've just experienced the coldest one since records began (and still not over yet) this year's onset has been delayed.
But for you, asthma as well? Oh, that's nasty! And I don't think it's seasonal as the pollen business, or is it? My ignorance shows.

Btw: Now you won't neglect your pussy-care, will you?

    1. nothing wrong with still feeling the blogger love! spouse is used to me hogging the limelight and being fussed over. he is introverted, but can be brought out under the right circumstances. he hit it off with spo and jay and david very well.

my asthma can happen any time anywhere. I carry an inhaler at all times. I had an attack coming home from the grocery store last night.

my pussies are fine; my neighbor looked after meredith and nyla whilst we went to DE. my personal pussy is...

    2. Ray, did you not see me on the sofa with Anne Marie? But her hubby was sitting behind me, looking over my shoulder! It was all good fun! (That picture is on my blog.)

    3. I've seen it now, David. Thanks - and I see also that there's a lot of catching up for me to do from your own postings of the 'event'. Unfortunately, I don't know why but yours is another blog (as is Ron's of R/Delaware) for which my rickety old computer takes ages even just to scroll down, let alone play anything there. But try I shall.

  4. Anne Marie,

I do believe last weekend's Spotacular (Bloggerfest) was the best gathering I've ever experienced in my many decades on this planet. The planets must have been in perfect alignment because everything went perfectly. And not a negative word, vibe or thought the whole weekend. What are the odds of that happening when a bunch of gay guys (with their straight friends) get together? It is as I say, there is one person who brings out the best in all of us and that is Dr. Spo. I do hope we can replicate our "Spotacular" again next year. We all need a break like last weekend from the strum and drang of our regular existence, and there is one person who made that possible by his goodness and that is Dr. Spo. Sometimes I think we're his extended patients. :)

  6. OMG! Now that is a brain fart! I mean, brain puke!

Just to make a long comment short, work is about to drive me to drink (not that it would take too much). Not overwhelming per se, but just dealing with stupid managers and idiot "customers" is about to push me over the edge.

    Peace <3

  7. Black jellybeans you say?
Are you sure that's not "blech" jellybeans?
I'm not a fan myself, but that means more for you right?

On the other hand, when you mention quiche, mac-and-cheese, or pound cake, you have my undivided attention. :-)

    1. I like licorice (being british ancestry); so yeah, more for me! (does happy dance)

there is something about combining separate items and turning out a nice food item that soothes my brain. I saw a shirt one time that says "baking is science for hungry people". now I never took chemistry in high school (cause I suck at science), but I DO know when I take a pie crust and fill it with eggs and cream and cheese and bacon I get quiche.

hope all is well in your corner of the world, dear sean. smooches! :)

    2. Yes, things are going OK. The 14-year-old son is driving us a little nuts right now, but it's nothing we can't handle. Thanks for asking!

Funny enough, I like real licorice (like you get in licorice allsorts.) I just don't like the fake stuff.

  8. For some reason I have still to grasp, the public offices in the City of Phoenix were closed on 4/1. When did Easter Monday become a thing?

    1. don't know; perhaps in the past 10 years. schools had the day off around here (it was still considered "spring break"). my teacher neighbors went back to work yesterday.

since the church of me myself and I celebrate happy chocolate bunny day for only 1 DAY, it was back to routine on 4/1.

    2. I am embarrassed to admit I'd forgotten but the reason the City of Phoenix offices were closed Monday was in honor of Caesar Chavez Day

About the woman in GA < perhaps we should just abandon marriage altogether for what stops a man and woman pretending they are married to get benefits?
