You'd be hard pressed to find any young'ens who know about this event. The spiral into Police State has continued ever since. I didn't have a TV back then, so I didn't hear about it until I arrived at the student center before class to watch Cronkite on the evening news. You could hear a pin drop in that otherwise noisy hall. This was well before 24 hour news was even thought about.
I was just shy of two months old when it happened. I remember seeing a TV movie about it and reading about it as a teenager. I'm surprised something like this hasn't happened again. We have our own "Vietnam" we're dealing with.
Thank you, AM, for this tragic event should never be forgotten...

Deletewe NEVER should have become involved in vietnam. 58K+ lives wasted. :(
It's good you shared this because some folks don't know what happened, some have forgotten.
ReplyDeleteand some people were not even born yet (like my niece).
Deleteit needs to be told. so that (bob forbid) it won't happen again, but could under similar circumstances.
