Pic of the Day - May 6

Yeah, that's right, you are not seeing things, you are stone cold sober.  The str8 girl has pink flamingos in her back yard.  My SIL's deceased aunt loved to do woodwork.  So these guys are hand-painted wood (heh heh heh, I said "wood") with metal legs/necks and google eyes.

They are standing and waiting for my lily of the valley (les fleurs de lis) to bloom.  They are late this year; damn cold weather.  Normally by 5/1 I have some to pick for May Day; not this year.  C'mon, bloom already!

And I have a Victorian era gazing ball/magic ball (heh heh heh, I said "ball").  Cause that's the way I roll, YO!

  1. They look so weird that 'other' birds must be keeping their distance, saying "What the f....!"

And do your talents stretch to making predictions with that crystal ball thingy? If so, how about telling us when the earth is going to combust or whatever? (I'm sure you can do better than that Rev Camping, of brief notoriety and fame) - Or, failing that, what you'll have for dinner next Sunday?.

    1. good morning, lovey! 3a here, and I am ready to return to bed for a few hours.

we have plenty of birdies; they keep my kitty girls entertained for hours. and the green globe does not predict the future, nor dinner, nor world peace. it's just cool!

    1. http://www.gardenguides.com/78761-history-gazing-ball.html

      a history lesson there.

my house is white stucco with green trim, so that's why the gazing ball is green. the pedestal is from an old birdbath; it's concrete and heavy; I rescued it and painted it - recycling YEAH!

    1. thank you, dear! my house was built in 1941, so I decided to go a bit kitschy outside.

behind the green ball are my peony bushes; they usually bloom in june. still no lily of the valley yet. :(
