Saturday Night Dance Party!

This is how I am feeling right now.

Dance like no one's watching.

Sing like no one's listening.

"I'm Every Woman" - Chaka Khan!

PS - picture Kelly and I singing this tune at the drag show we visited in DC last month...HEE HEE!

Only 223 days til...(you know what!)

  1. I am mindful of your speedy glossing-over of my discourtesy under your last blog, A,M, - albeit unintended, as you know. But thank you, and let's move on.

I actually saw the late Ms Houston in the flesh about 20 years ago when there was a commemorative rally and march through the centre of London for victims of AIDS. All were gathered at the start in Hyde Park, but it was held back for the appearance of an unnamed 'superstar' whose identity they deliberately kept under wraps - for fear of us wandering off, I suppose. Anyway, the march was held up for close on an hour, I seem to remember. She did eventuially appear on a temporary stage, we all waving our brought-along flowers in appreciation. She didn't sing, of course. There'd have been no time for that anyway, but she just spoke for about 2 mins saying how privileged she felt at being able to appear at the 'event' (She'd been on a world tour and just happened to be in this country.) Then she disappeared and that was it! Of course in the years following we all know the downward trajectory her life took, with her frequent troubles and struggles which eventually tragically claimed her. But that day was a brief episode in my life I'll always remember - not least because I'd just lost the third of my closest friends in three successive years (and have never made up the numbers since).

I'll postpone my dance until later as I don't wish to put undue strain on Blackso's little heart by alarming him unduly.

    2. At this moment he's out on the prowl but I've now got Toffy beside me - AND there's Noodles, Ginger and Dooda in the kitchen. It's exhausting work having to keep SEVEN pussies satisfied, taking so much out of one (as you might imagine) that I don't think I've got any stamina left.

    1. you got that right. her later stuff was all screaming. "I will always love you" - she RUINED that song with all the screaming. dolly's will always be the definitive version for me.

  6. Happy belated birthday Anne Marie! I have been a bit busy here with work, and even busier for the next 3 weeks. My business is a "feast or famine" business. Too much right now, but not enough in between.
I hope you will have a wonderful weekend, filled with celebrations!

  7. Like you, I kind of lost interest in Whitney after she became Mrs. Brown but this is a great song. And so much energy in the video.
