Brain Puke XXI

Lots o shit swirling around in the toilet bowl that is my brain. Let's capture some of it here.

On Saturday afternoon it was snurrying (snow + flurry = snurry) outside.  Yuck.

On Friday I received holiday cards (with lots o love stuffed inside) from sassybear, ron, and peter.  Peter even sent me a delft butterfly and a piece of Dutch chocolate!

I also got a gift card for the local Chinese buffet from my company's founder.

And we had our annual company holiday lunch at a local mexican restaurant (pitchers of sangria and margaritas and beer)!  Your author had the sangria.

AND I was given a HUGE-O end-of-year bonus from my boss; HUGE-O only because he didn't give us one when we hit $1M in sales back in July.  Will pay off some debt and put some toward my gym time.  I also still need to get that haircut.  And get the nails prettied up for the yuletide.

I need to get 6 giftee cards tomorrow during my grocery shopping trip.  That will finish my holiday shopping.  Whee.

Well, I promised King Raybeard some more fun.  I have PEEKTURES!

Nyla (foreground) and Meredith (background) at rest with my shoes.  A still life pix.

Nyla warming herself in front of the fire.

Meredith on the couch.

Daddy and his Nyla.

More Nyla and the fire.

Tuesday, 12/10/13.

Tuesday, 12/10/13.  That's Todd beginning to shovel the driveway.  Yeah.  More white crap.

I ate some dee-lish kettle cooked potato chips on Saturday.  Or "nasty chips", as spo calls them.

Pasta and meatballs (heh heh heh, I said "balls") for dinner Saturday night.  With a glass of wine.  And fresh Italian bread.

So far, we have watched "Miracle on 34th Street", "A Charlie Brown Xmas", and "Scrooge" (the 1951 b&w version, tyvm).  Rankin/Bass stuff to come in the next 2 weeks, along with MST3K's holiday movie snark.

About 1 inch of fresh white crap, on top of the 4 inches from Tuesday.  Bah humbug! :(

Still have to decorate the 4' tree; this will be my Sunday project.  Expect an ornament post (like I did last year), only with different pix.

  1. The snow is beautiful, as long as you don't have to go outside and shovel it. I'd much rather be one of those lazy cats, keeping toasty by the fire.

    1. this snow was easy; just push it away. we have a snowblower (heh heh heh, I said "blow") if things get really nasty.

my nyla (a 6 year old rescue kitty) loves the warm fireplace. meredith is 12 (another rescue kitty) and has a BTDT attitude in that regard.

thanks for stopping by, dear; smooches!

  2. You say, one inch on top of the already four inches like it's a bad thing!!!! Oh , well, I am a size queen, but five will do in a pinch!!!!! I have to say I haven't minded the snow yet, but once Christmas is over good bye I hope. I had some lovely homemade chilli tonight and then some gin, then took a nice nap. I just love the pussies they are so dang CUTE!!!!!!!!

    1. well, you KNOW we ladies can accommodate up to 6 inches up front...

all my 5 pussies (3 deceased, 2 living) have been rescue cats from a local no-kill no-cage shelter. and they have all been adult cats also.

  3. I love the pictures of your cats, especially the one with Todd! :-)

If Mistress Maddie needs more than five inches she should call me, for five inches does not even cover my girth, let alone my length!

    Ho! Ho!! HO!!!

  4. Oh, I'm L-A-T-E - and disturbingly tardy in seeing that you've given 'umble little me yet another BIG plug! (I'm always later on Suns, having first to wade through my weekly dose of stories politico and tittle-tattle from the only newspaper that I now buy.)
But pussy pics can be guaranteed to provide stimulation - and these two lovelies of yours, with their alien-looking, radiating eyes do the trick magnificently. They obviously savvy enough to know where to attain maximum comfort - and just as well that they can get plenty, seeing as you've got all that Wintry stuff outside.

I've currently got one curled up in a soft, warm cat 'crib' near me, another in the bedroom, and a third in the kitchen - all trying to get away from the 50F weather outside. Yes, we're going through a most unseasonal, but welcome mild spell here, still with no sign of it coming to an end. (Heh heh!)

Btw: I've now got up-to-date pics of my two 'residents' + three of my most frequent 'regulars' which will be posted soon, prob'ly after this weeks expected two film offerings.

I do love the look of snow - but only when it's on the other side of glass and you don't have to go out into it.

Do M & N each have their preferences between you and hubby? As a kid when we went through any number of cats (they sadly mostly either mysteriously disappeared or were tragically run over) it was always entertaining to see which of the family's laps they would choose to go to first, if there was more than one of us sitting down, say watching TV. My own score was quite high - because, I reckon, they pick up on who is the least likely to be a 'threat' to them or, more probably, the one who'll disturb them the least.

Looking forward to viewing your Xmas tree (complete with fairy lights?) Good luck with it - and don't let M & N get too curious and frisky with all that tempting glitter.

  5. I LOVE the snow! I never have to shovel because with the strong winds here, it never accumulates on my driveway.

But I don't like when it gets to be -30 C (-22 F) like it is this a.m. Cars won't start and my water line to the well froze on Thursday night. ... We've been waterless ever since but I expect / hope to get it working today.

  8. Anne Marie,

NICE snow but you can keep it up there. Only rain down here honey. NICE pictures of the family. My favorite blogs are the ones that get down and homey, especially with pictures of real people and real home. Thanks for sharing.

  11. We've had enough bloody rain to float an ark. Wish it would snow here! Then we get SNOW DAYS! And I have 4WD so I don't shovel it at all.

    Peace <3

    1. wheeeeeeeeeeee, peter loves us!

every once and a while, I gotta have some chips or hot salty french fries. and, like fruitcake, once I have some, I can go months without having more. as I get older, the taste buds are a-changing. but they will NEVER give up chocolate! :)
