  2. On this occasion, only because it's such an illustrious personage as Dr Spo - as well as your having provided us with a veritable feast, this week, A.M. - I am prepared to relinquish my crown temporarily. But just this once, mind you!

When I first saw that your post included b/day greetings to 'Mark' I thought "How very strange!" You might imagine my relief on going through Google to find that it was not Mark Chapman's birthday after all - and that he's now 59 anyway.
So I add my own greetings to your real friend Mark on his half-century, with wishes for an exceptionally fine, 'landMARK' day.

I didn't know the Elton song at all, though feel I ought to have done.

Did you know that the Harrison song (which didn't even make our Top 10 here, as against your own #2) features not only Ringo on drums but Paul doing backing vocals? Perhaps you did.

You've really spoilt us this week, A.M. - but don't let that prevent you trying it on again in future. See ya!

    1. I would NEVER acknowledge that SOB murderer; I hope he rots in jail!

mark and his husband are currently in paris(!) for the birthday celebration; such a lucky guy!

such a pity for george's song in his native land; and yes, I do know that bit of trivia.

      until next week...

    2. In my books anyone who goes to or, even better, lives in Paris is extremely lucky. When I was a frequent traveller it became and remained my favourite city from the moment I 'discovered' it. So, yes, I do indeed envy the lucky Mark (non-Chapman) + 1 other.

  6. A 3-fer on a common theme! All songs I know but haven't thought of in a long while. Thanks!

In an interview I saw EJ said he never sings Empty Garden in public because it is too emotional for him.

My one and only trip to Paris was the spring of 1975. It was terrific.

    1. I remember a bunch of us crying at work 12/9/80; the classic rock station played nothing but lennon and beatles songs all day.
