Brain Puke XV

Look out boyfriends, I'mma gonna hurl!

Baseball season has started! :)  This makes your Warrior Queen VERY happy indeed.

LOOK, BOYFRIENDS!  SPRING FLOWERS ARE FINALLY HERE!

Crocus and snowdrops and the beginnings of hyacinths.  The crocus and snowdrops are 1 month late; the hyacinths are on time.  As you can see though, I have no grass, only mud.

Some gifts from the blogger meetup:

The mug says "it's the cat's house, we just pay the mortgage".  Truer words were never spoken!  The mug was from Randy.  The maple syrup was from Pat; it came all the way from Canada!  Damn fine syrup; we opened a bottle last weekend for our corncakes.  Must be something in those maple trees in Canada...

A fresh hot home made from scratch beer bread; I used one bottle of Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA spouse purchased at the brewery.  Ooooooooh, hoppy & strong!  I made this on Saturday and it's almost gone.

I have managed NOT to go to the hospital for the past 2 weekends!

Different knitting projects continue to flow from the needles (a scarf and 2 shawls).  I just started the scarf; the 2 shawls are almost finished.

I'mma get some color around here if it kills me!  PS - the shawl pix were taken on my bed during the blogger meetup days.

And no post would be complete without a little pussy:

Since it was such a nice weekend, I left the sunporch door open and Miss Nyla was able to come and go as she pleased.  She spent time sleeping in this chair when she was not watching birds/squirrels in the yard.

  4. Apart from animals, nothing raises my spirits more than the sight of flowers, preferably growing in their natural habitat.

The attraction of 'American' sports - baseball, American football etc - remains as closed a mystery to as.....well, say cricket or rugby. And I think we'll leave it that way as we approach our sunset days.

P.S. Give Nyla a little gentle stroke from me, will you please?

  5. It is nice to have a little warmer weather and signs of spring. The dough hook on my Kitchen Aid mixer broke on Saturday, I had to finish the batch by hand.

    Well THAT'S good news.

And Miss Nyla looks very much like a distant cousin of our own MaxGoldberg.

  8. When I see you pretty handy work, I wish I had learned to knit long ago. It would be a handy hobby today. Alas, I was told that Lefties were difficult to teach the art of knitting. They lied, I know. Thanks for sharing.

  9. What a fun post. MMM, I can smell the bread. Next to cupcakes, bread is another one of my weaknesses.

    1. yeah, the beer acts as the yeast.

flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, 12 oz. beer, water. that's all the ingredients you need.

  12. What a fabulous mug! Spot on indeed The meetup sounds, looks and no doubt smelled brilliant! I can't bake at all!

ps.........it's nice to meet fellow knitters. Some are under the notion that knitters are a boring bunch. I'm knitting a black false widow spider (with skull on back) for my son-in-law's visit this weekend. What's boring (or insane) about that..!?
