This is how I am feeling right now.
Dance like no one's watching.
Sing like no one's listening.
"Neutron Dance" - what in the hell are they wearing? Do neutrons wear such outfits? And the lip-sync is bad too. Oh well, git up offa that thing and shake yo ass!
PS - HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR.SPO!!!!!
God i love the Pointer Sisters.
ReplyDeleteAnd a neutron dance is just what the doctah ordered!!
PS I was first???
Deleteyes bob, you are first this week. king raybeard might just cry - two weeks in a row he ain't on top!
Delete(heh heh heh, I said "top")
I loved them but this song! UGH!!!! I was driving my sister to visit colleges and way back then we only had FM radio - I swear that this song came on every five songs! And because we were traveling, we'd loose one station and find a new one and it was their time to play it.
ReplyDeleteoh gawd, then it's an earworm song for you. sorry.
DeleteEVERYTHING was overplayed back then, wasn't it?
Coming in at a distant third this week, A.M., though I did check your blog some hours ago, as demonstrated by my comment on hubby's early this morning. Since then been occupied with making preparations for my big departure day after tomorrow (no, not THAT one - at least not yet!). It's annual visit to big-sis-up-in-Yorkshire time again, she now 76 and ailing, as is her 82 yr o.h., so it's unlikely to be a barrel of laughs. (He's now not allowed to drink any alcohol at all when before he's always liked his daily beer or three - and we always used to share a bottle of wine - each!) However, health issues or no, familial obligations must take precedence.
ReplyDeleteMy preps include putting two furry ones in cattery before departure, and getting them to share a cage for the first time - 'accommodation' prices have shot up by 25% over just one year. I know they'll HATE me for leaving them there and they'll be sulking for days after I get them 'released' next Fri (which can't come soon enough, to be honest).
Now your video. I wonder if this was where MC Hammer got inspiration for those weird 'sultan pants' he used to don. This particular record only got to #31 here, but I suppose it was okay. A few swallows of G & T beforehand might help to 'appreciate' it - and that may have been the idea of wearing those outfits for their German audience. They probably thought that SOMEone has got to like them. I do like the colours, though.
My regards to the 'little' ones, even though they seem to be taking their own sweet time to accept each other. Territorial issues I suppose.
If don't 'see' you before I go, keep yourself safe and content until next weekend, then (and beyond, naturally).
Tara!
have a safe trip! who will feed the other kitties whilst you are gone?
DeleteTheir owners , I hope - though I expect they'll be sitting outside my window expectantly until they fathom out that I'm not there to let them in. But I don't want to think about it.
DeleteOff in an hour and now got to find Blackso who's very annoyingly gone walkies. 'See' you at w/e. Byeeee!
Big hair and flashy clothes. It was the eighties for sure.
ReplyDeleteyou know it!
DeleteI used to teach aerobics to this tune! Thanks for the blast from the past!
ReplyDeleteNO WAY! I'd be outta breath on this one! lucky for me, lifting weights doesn't require a soundtrack.
DeleteThere we go! GREAT MUSIC!
ReplyDeletePeace <3
Jay
thank you jay; hope you are having a nice weekend!
DeleteOh my, God - those outfits put my 80's lemon sparkly puffball dress to shame! Just as well the song very much makes up for it....lol....☺
ReplyDeleteOMB, you actually WORE one of those things? by 1982 I was married to my now-ex and was fat. no one was gonna get me to wear an outrageous poufy frock!
DeleteFirst place last week... last place this week. :-/ I'm with Bob... Love me some Pointer Sisters!!! HAVE A FABULOUS WEEKEND!!!
ReplyDeleteMWAH, sweetie! just you wait though, spo and someone will weigh in later this week, so you will not be last for long!
DeleteYou are the dearest of Warrior Queens! OOXX
ReplyDeleteyou KNOW it, birthday boy! have a big old snort of whiskey (no rubbish) on your special day!
DeleteI adored thr Pointer Sisters in 1984. Richard Perry was on a hot streak with them. Loved that deep alto. For a time, they could do no wrong! - Uptonking from Wonderland Burlesque
ReplyDeletetru fax dat; it's just that the outfits here detract from the song. and what this song has to do with an eddie murphy movie I'll never know.
DeleteI love 80's songs!
ReplyDeleteAnd sometimes it's what we need to do: to sing and to dance.
stick around, my dear; there's more to come!
