Say Goodbye (and good riddance) To 2014!

Kick 2014's ass out the door, and say hello to 2015!  Happy New Year to all my boyfriends near and far!

So what have I been doing this last week (besides working)?

Well, let's review with some pix, shall we?

These are the electric candles I have in my windows; they face the street.  I have a pair; they used to belong to my in-laws, they are over 50 years old, and they were made right here in phillytown!

The stockings were hung (heh heh heh) by the chimney with care...

...and one for the pussies who all reside there.  My SIL made these stockings 20 years ago; Sydney was our first cat and he passed in 2002.  "A house without a cat is not a home" - tru fax dat!

Since Mistress Maddie is a fan of front doors, here is mine.

I got this DVD collection for xmess; fascinating history!

And now for something completely different...

The girls gave me this calendar; it hangs on my office wall.

Santa Cat brought the girls some new toys!

Miss Gigi says HAPPY

Miss Nyla says MEW

Miss Oreo says YEAR!

And now let me introduce you to a new boyfriend on the scene: Average Gay Dude!  He's cute, has mad drawing skillz, is artsy/craftsy, lives in South Florida, and is a vegan!

AGD, go check out these skilled friends of mine:  Dr. Spo (scroll down and see one of his famous spo-shirts) and Sassybear (check out his crocheted accessories) and Fearsomebeard (he knows how to bake).  I have some of the most creative friends in the universe!  Ain't I a lucky girl!

The Final Countdown

No, not a movie review.  Just some shit going on here whilst I recover from an intestinal bug (heh heh heh, shit, get it?).

Decorated last weekend.  No beer involved (the gnomes gasp in horror)!

Upstate PA location landmark (about 3 hours northwest of Philly); started September 5, 1787.  The ornament itself is 14 years old.

This week's baked goodie - blueberry cobbler!  Pix taken when the cobbler was only 30 minutes outta da oven!

As you can see outta my porch window and down my driveway to the street, no white shit here (thank the dogs and cats!).

I currently have 3 shawls in progress for the bestest person I know - ME!  You saw the baby green one last week.  This pink/green one is about 40% finished.

This one is about 90% finished.  Back in October, Mistress Maddie saw it like this:

The Paws That Refreshes...

...and it sure as hell AIN'T diet coke!  (confidentially, I am a diet pepsi girl myself)

So since all of us (like Dr. Spo) are stressed with work, home, holiday shit, family, etc., let's have a moment of zen.

Miss Gigi napping on the chair

Miss Oreo in the play tent

Miss Gigi and Miss Nyla at play

Our holiday treat arrived in Wednesday's mail; King Raybeard and John Gray will probably recognize it immediately!

Yep, english xmas pudding and brandy sauce.  I actually got the german spouse to try this many years ago and he pronounced it good.  So every year we have to special order it.

And I also purchased a small (16 oz) fruitcake from Canada (eh, Buddybear) at my grocery store and a bottle of spiked (rum, brandy, whiskey) eggnog from the PA State Store.  Go ahead and laugh, but I like fruitcake - I like all my boyfriends too, right?  Aren't we all just a buncha fruitcakes?

This weekend it's pull out the fake tree and put the electric candles in the windows.  Wait for spouse's gift to arrive next week.  Work like a dog at the office; there will be constant pressure until 1-2-15 (and I don't even work retail!).  Thank the dogs and cats for knitting and books and booze!

OK, back to your regularly scheduled nervous breakdown...
