Saturday Meditation

This is how I am feeling right now.

"You Don't Own Me" - for Lesley Gore and the Cajun; RIP.

(I just don't feel like dancing or singing this week)

PS - HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAC!

  1. A sombre mood persists in Blogland, A.M., which will be around for some days yet - and there's nothing wrong with that. Both Wayne and Ms Gore were my present age, and it inevitably brings into focus ones own mortality (yet again) no matter how old we are.

Hope all are well at 'chez vous', as are we - aside from my taking a noisy tumble in my bedroom at 2 a.m. while getting up, but feeling dizzy, for a 'bathroom break' night before last. Only fell onto the carpet but must have woken up Mr Nasty below me. . However, and worryingly, found it hard to drag myself up again. (Oh the helplessness of the stage we are now at!). Woke up three sleeping pussies in the process, who took the opportunity to worry me for night-time feeds, with which I just HAD to comply. Apart from that little incident all is hunky-dory.

Your weather has hit our news bulletins again, though I'm not sure if the affected area includes you. If it does, huddle up well to each other till it's over - 'cos it can't be for much longer now, can it? (CAN it?)

    See ya later.

  3. I truly understand what you are feeling. To have followed his difficult journey was painful, but yet, every time he posted, he gave us a little hope. A strong, brave, courageous man.

I am reminded of some words in the song, "The Impossible Dream":

"still strove with his last ounce of courage to reach the unreachable stars".

  4. Sometimes you just have to step away from the party and reflect in life and loss. Hang in there.

  5. I completely understand why you're feeling this way, and once again I'm sorry for your loss. I hope this weekend goes much better.

  8. I've been humming the song all weekend and can't get the movie out of my mind.

  9. This is a very good tune to emulate while making something in the kitchen while the dog looks on. Alas, she isn't very convinced.

  12. Cor....I could send this link to a couple of friends - it would be so fitting......but I know I won't. Sometimes songs are better at getting the message across!
