Saturday Night Dance Party!

This is how I am feeling right now.

Dance like no one's watching.

Sing like no one's listening.

"I Love a Rainy Night" - have you ever sat in the dark and quiet, listening to the rain fall outside?

  1. Eddie Rabbit! Woo Hoo! I love me a rainy night too! Off to bed here in SoCal with a tune in my head! Thanks AM! Sorry Raybeard....beat you to the punch!

  2. M'ning, A.M. - Also a "Howdy do" to F.B, with an assurance that I'm happy to concede being first to others now and again, as long as it's not TOO often. ;-)

If I'd ever heard of this mullet-wearing Rabbitt chappie at all then I'd forgotten about him. I see that this hip-swaying, pleasing little ditty reached all the way up to #53 here back in 1981, one of only two of his records that 'charted' within these shores. (And, if I may say, he's not at all bad-looking as well).

Are your temps starting to drop now or are you still baking? - outside as well as in cuisine style. It's 10.30 a.m. right now and today is forecast to be our hottest day since July 1st, which itself was our hottest July day on record. It's warming up now and temps are forecast to touch 80 degrees - something for which you'd probably think not worth putting on the air-conditioning. But it's going downhill tomorrow, with thunderstorms forecast, some of which, with a bit of luck, could be quite spectacular - something which is a rare event indeed for us.
Earlier, at 6 a.m., I huffed and puffed a two-mile jog on the seafront - or, more accurately, ran a few hundred yards then walked to catch breath - and repeated in like manner for the whole distance.

Blackso still spending the nights out doing God-knows-what, and giving me palpitations with his mysterious long absences, the longest one to date being 18 hours. Hope as the nights cool down so will his ardour. Maybe the title of this song you've posted will be the cue to get him to resume his indoor sleeps.

Hope all yours are well, not forgetting you yourself plus hubby.

We'll be 'seeing' you later, then.
    Byeeeeeeee!

    1. rabbitt had the look back in the day, didn't he? (grin)

it's still in the high 80s-low 90s here, with high humidity that makes it impossible for me to breathe. so the air conditioner is on (house, car, workplace).

the school term begins in 2 weeks in this area, so that means more traffic and buses. I'm not looking forward to that AT ALL.

other than that, all is well here with humans and cats.

      smooches, king!

    2. It's only proper that 'God's sole, true representative on Earth' (yeah, right!) should come AFTER me. Thank you for recognising it, F.B. - and, A.M., I've never ever worn a dress! (or maybe that's my loss?)

      Delete
    3. IDK, I don't think a dress would be flattering on you, king. I don't look good in a dress either.

    4. Okey dokey, A.M. I'll remove it from my 'bucket list'. :-)
You're in fine company re not looking flattering in a dress, A.M. - Mrs Clinton, Frau Merkel - and, not to mention, Madge! (But some wouldn't want to mention her anyway?)

    5. yeah, some of us old broads can't cut the dress look. a dress reminds me of the hated catholic school uniforms I had to wear for grades 1-12. when I graduated high school, I BURNED THAT UNIFORM!

    6. Ah, the evil influence of religion again. I'm not kidding. but those Romans push their noses in just about everywhere - as we've found out in recent years.

    7. yep. by the time I finished college, I had enough of their bullshit and quit catholicism. best decision I ever made!

    8. Took me nearly 10 years after college to 'see the light'. But another 25 years on top of that to ditch all Xtianity itself. Hallelujah!

    1. (from wikipedia)

Eddie Rabbitt died on May 7, 1998, in Nashville from lung cancer at the age of 56. He had been diagnosed with the disease in March 1997 and had received radiation treatment and surgery to remove part of one lung.[28] His body was interred at Calvary Cemetery in Nashville following a private burial on May 8, 1998.

Rainy night? What's rain? I almost forgot what that is since we don't seem to get it that often.

Its been raining all day, and is supposed to continue so for the next three days. Tis autumn in Alaska and the high today was 54, we are slip sliding into winter. Thankfully, before that blanket of cold and white covers the ground I'll be back in sunny and warm Arizona!
