Saturday Night Dance Party!

This is how I am feeling right now.

Dance like no one's watching.

Sing like no one's listening.

"Shake You Down" - for those of you who wanna git yer freak on, here's a nice soul tune to put ya in the mood!

PS - Please send good thoughts to The Dog's Mother (click the linky-luv); she is having shoulder surgery.

  5. M'ning, A.M.,
This number was only on the outer reaches of my memory so was teeny bit surprised to see that it (his only hit here) got as high as #6 in '86. It's gently moody and soothing.

Blackso causing me lots of concern now - erratic behaviour, wobbly on feet, fur coming out in clumps - all features of his advanced age. He spent all last night squeezed uncomfortably between bookcase and wall. Although he could get out himself if he wanted I kept getting up in the night to check on him. So very sad to see him like this, but he is eating and drinking - and this morning he's laid out on the table taking in the Autumn sun.

Hope all is fine with you. Lots of Papa Francis' American visit on our news here. I'm a bit surprised, not to say disappointed, that he's getting such adulation over there, which at times seems not far from the worst excesses of Beatlemania. Just cannot understand why so many regard him as as such a 'hero'.

As you can see, I'm in a crochety mood just now (exacerbated by lack of sleep, no doubt), but it'll pass.

Anyway, have a luverly w/e, positive thoughts to all five of you, and we'll see you later,
    Byeeeeeee!

    1. mr. abbott's a one-hit wonder here too. and yesterday was international one-hit wonder day, so...

poor blackso! I hope he is not in any discomfort. sounds like a nice lie-in in a sunpatch will do him good.

we are on lockdown/police state gulag here in the city with the pope (or poop as I have been calling him) arriving this morning. ya might think it was the second coming or some such nonsense. and LGBTQ people are not allowed/recognized; ain't NO ONE got time for that shit! the powers that be say "this event is not just for catholics" - yeah, well my jewish boss doesn't give 6 shits about this freak. I know gay men who look better in a dress than frannie does! I cannot WAIT til monday afternoon when the city gets back to normal!

{{{{{hugs}}}}} to all across the pond!

    2. Our news bulletins seem to imply that ALL Americans are having orgasms over Papa Frankie's visit - though NOT literally, I ought to add. No talk of any dissent at all - well, apart from the Reps turning disapprovingly silent (though not always) about his comments on climate change, while warmly applauding or even cheering, his condemnation of family planning. Still, he doesn't have long to go - I mean both for his visit to your country and his likely term time remaining, though heaven only knows what the next one will be like. (I can make a shrewd guess).

Blackso's not so bad right now - eating well again today and sleeping in a sensible location - though it's heart-breaking to see ones best friend in the entire world deteriorating before ones very eyes, and knowing that it's most unlikely to improve. Still, it'll happen to each and all of us.

Hugs received with thanks and same to y'all.

    3. the backlash has already begun from businesses in my city; people were scared away, not as many people turned out as expected, etc. this next week should see plenty of authority-bashing from residents/businesses alike. I cannot wait!

yes, we are all aging. we wish we could keep our furkids forever and ever. my 4 that have crossed the rainbow bridge are still missed in this house by the humans.
