Scenes From A Beachy Weekend

The spouse and I took a long weekend "downdashore" to commemorate his birthday and our anniversary.

Go to Mark's blog to see pix of our Friday night escapade!  A fun evening with my Delaware boyfriends!

Saturday was sunny and mild.  So we went out to shop, explore, eat, drink.

This is where we stayed (heh heh heh, "anus")

Roses still blooming

Pretties!

Rehoboth bandstand - used for outdoor concerts

A dolphin statue dressed in a beach t-shirt

The Atlantic Ocean (waves to Raybeard on the other side of the pond)

Cross the dune to the ocean

 Spouse on the boardwalk

Crowd gathered to hear a Philly string band playing (the plumed hats are the band; I could not get up close and personal)

Halloween scenes around town for Spo and Debra

The Dogs' Mother's gnomes have come East!  Get them a beer stat!

  1. Oh See Anus? LOL!

I'm glad you had a great time, and I love the pictures. Especially those little yellow pumpkins.

  4. Well you excelled even yourself with this post, A.M. - and I must thank you for the wave. I'd been wondering who that was gesticulating in the far distance. Now all is clear!

    Lovely pics all.
I had to enlarge the pic of 'Oceanus' to get the joke. (Btw: in our Manchester's gay scene area, one of the main thoroughfares is called 'Canal Street'. The Council must be pretty well fed up with having to rectify the merry japes of pranksters who keep covering up or scrawling out the 'C'.)

Mark's blog contains what must be the nicest pics of you and other half that I've yet seen. I've just got to 'save' them. I'm guessing those of the two of you were taken early on in proceedings? But a grand time was clearly had by all. Oh, what fun!

And I must just mention that Gigi's colouring is so very like that of my Noodles. The big blotches of that greyish-black tortoiseshell on top of white, only the positioning of them is slightly different. The two of them could easily be mistaken for bro and sis.

Lovely post of a most memorable time, A.M.

    1. actually, if you draw a str8 line from philly to europe, you land in lisbon portugal. you are way far north.

since you are near manchester (from whence my father's relatives came to the USA), have you and squire john gray ever met in person? "anal street" - bwhahahaha!

yes, those pix were taken quite early, before we got too tipsy on the passionfruit sangria! we like mark and joe; joe is originally from philly YO!

cat colours don't seem to vary too much, do they?

    2. Oh, that must have been someone else waving, then. I wonder who it could have been?

No, not only have I not met J.G. (in fact I've never met ANY blog-pals) I've never been to Wales at all. By the time we do get to meet, if ever, he'll probably have uprooted his Welshness and returned to England.

I suspect that on your celebration evening, towards the end you looked considerably more 'pink' than when you started, right?

    3. a secret admirer, perhaps, was waving.

OMB, meeting squire gray would be a loverly day!

and yes, both of us were "in the pink" and the end of friday evening!

  5. Congratulations on a momentous weekend! The photos are great. I like the pumpkins, the faux sheep at the yarn shop, and the gnomes. And I waved to Ray across the pond.
What can I say about the Anus Motel?

    Luv the kitties!

  10. I saw the photos of the festivities and blonde hair really suits you (I remember from going through other blogs with photos of Bloggerpalooza that you were formerly a redhead).

Looks like a great time was had by all.

    1. I switch back and forth; right now the red is washed out and the blond remains. red is the hardest color to hold onto when you are mostly gray, or so I am told.

so the pix didn't scare ya away?

    2. The only pictures that scare me are of the Kartrashians and any 20-something starlet giving 'duckface' and making her eyes go as vacant as possible, on purpose. Photos of friends together and celebrating are salve for the soul.

    2. Isn't it nice to have a neighbor that picks up the slack when you're gone. Its just a nightmare otherwise. A friend feeds our cats, but we have to board the dog.

    1. no rugrats, no asshole tourists, just the locals out and about and great prices on lodging in the off-season.

yarn stores and sheep go together like peanut butter and jelly.
