"I intend to live forever. So far, so good." - Steven Wright
Been knocked down more times than I care to count - - seems more and more difficult to get up again.Yet another untimely death in the music world. Such a shame.Twelve inches of snow yesterday here in the wilderness, and it's still snowing heavily tonight. Not much to dance about.Except to keep warm.....
I will have some snow pix tomorrow. at least 14 inches and counting around here...been snowing since 7p friday night.
M'ning, A.M.,I imagine you might well be snowed in now? Your (then) expected blizzards was all over our news last night. I still don't know whether they materialised as feared, or maybe it's even now still snowing? Whatever the situation, I trust you are coping. As for us, mild weather has returned (heh heh), though a bit blowy and wet - and will probably remain that way for a few more days at least. Better this than more typically Winter weather. But I won't crow too much as what you're experiencing will probably send some of its effects this way before long, though of course it won't by then be anything like as dire as some over there are having it.I've had a great regard for 'Tubthumping' since it first came out. Easily one of my topmost favourites of the last 20 years. Sadly, though, I've still no sound - and it's likely to remain that way now until I can get a new entire thingy. (Flash players refuse to load!)When the name of Glenn Frey started appearing all over our news a few days ago, must confess it rang no bells at all with me. Naturally though, I do know the songs. So, no other news from here. We are all well as can be hoped. Trust same is with you.So I suppose you'll now be locking yourself indoors - and maybe, just maybe 'pissing the night away'?Byeeeeee!
coping well, thanks, dear. 14+ and counting...been snowing since 7p friday evening. pix tomorrow.we cannot travel as a state of emergency has been declared by our state guvmint, our public transportation has been closed, and there is no place I wanna be other than inside my home.and I know what "pissing the night away" means in britspeak - we just might tonight!
Has it stopped yet? We've been all agog at the newsreel shots. So now you'll be waiting for the big thaw?
yes, it has stopped. anywhere between 24-28 inches. the sun is shining. still waiting on the snowplow guy.
Hmm - nice to hear a song sung in an English accent for a change. Is that what you like, Anne Marie?
a handsome man with a british accent gets me wet; throw in a furry chest and I am all over that like white on rice!
This got me up again - thanks!JP
we are too assume Guido did it the first time!
maddie beat me to it! :)
Hope you are staying warm and cozy in the blizzard! :-)
yes, we are all warm here. 14+ and counting...
I see y'all are getting dumped on down there.Hang in there!!! Stay put, bake and knit is the order of the day for you. 8-)))
holy shitsnax, "dumped" ain't the word; more like "slammed". my snowplow guy came thru my driveway once already; ya can barely see where he made a dent!don't have anywhere to go; have plenty of food and drink (wine) and cat food/litter.
"my snowplow guy came thru my driveway once already" was that a metaphor dear for something?
oh shit NO! the snowplow guy ain't worth the time of day (or night).
Carlos and i have been knocked down with that nasty cold, and now we're up again ... in time for a light dusting of snow in Smallville! It's purty, but it won't last the day I fear!Have a fabulous weekend AM!
wait til you see the pix I took this afternoon; they will be in a blog post tomorrow!
I hope things aren't too bad where you are. I was knocked down by a cold the past two days, and I'm slowly getting my energy back.I was sad to hear of Glenn Frey's passing. The last time I went walking, I listened to The Eagles Greatest Hits on my smartphone.
wait til tomorrow; pix will be published. 14+ inches and counting...been snowing since 7p yesterday...
I guess we sent the snow to rest of the country. It was in fifties yesterday here. I've been knocked down a lot in my life but I managed to get back up on my feet. Have a great one.
yes you did, damn you! :-bI want those 50 degree temps NOW! and like you I have been knocked down plenty; but fuck the world, I am still here!
I enjoyed both these videos! Are you digging out from the snowstorm now? And hey, I finally posted your Liebster Award on my blog -- thanks for your patience!
not yet; it's still snowing...this should be in canada! my snowplow guy has passed thru the driveway/walkways once this morning and ya can't tell he's even been here!I did see your liebster post; it's the bees that draw me in to your blog...
I do get up again after having been knocked down but never without some wear and tear, unfortunately. I'd say my favourite Glenn Frey song is "You belong to the City". ~ FrecklesBatten down the hatches!!
but that "wear and tear" is our battle scars - be proud of it! it means YOU kicked ass!we are battened down; pix tomorrow.
"Batten down the hatches?" She would dear, but Anne Marie doesn't wear a bra.
thanks for telling the entire fucking world my speshul sooper seekrit weepon for world domination!
I too enjoyed the music. Had to listen before writing. I am shocked, I thought you could handle 18"? I would love to be a snow queen, but not sure I can pull off the all white look with out getting some snickers. I too had Chinese take away last night, with wine. I am getting ready to devour some coffee bacon, home fries and flap jacks and then watch some movies. You alls stay warm over there in that neck of the wood and thanks for stoppin in.
most women's internal plumbing can hold no more than 6 inches, cause that's how we are made. I am not one of those "big eaters".we are warm and dry; pix tomorrow. I have big band music streaming on the computer, and am gonna do some knitting and napping this afternoon.
Stay warm my friend!
I am. I was just running thru a snow slide show (say THAT 3 times fast) on yahoo and saw roanoke got hit; I hope your mom is OK.meanwhile, 20+ inches and counting here...
We here haven't got nearly the snow you have, but still pretty impressive. Hope you are enjoying the snow. And drinks.
drinks yes, the snow not so much. I don't know what I will see come morning. zombies, perhaps?
Chumbawumba's Tubthumping Album was the first gift Jeffrey ever gave me, on our first Christmas Together. It's still one of my favorite songs and albums. We got no snow here. hope you're getting through it OK.Sassy bearwww.idleeyesandadormy.com
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! we survived snowmaggedon 2016!
"I get knocked down, but I get up again!"I always misheard those lyrics, silly me... xD"I get no doubt", for starters. And also, it's not "Danny boy" but "Johnny boy", haha!
yeah, having a translation sometimes helps, even if the song is in english!
