G'day, W.Q., I'm first! - or will I still be when I post this? This evocative chanson got to our #5 in '78 and #6 in the Billboard charts, being the only 'hit' of J.P.Y. in both countries. It's a positive goody, though. All fine here - and you? Better depress the 'Publish' button quick or someone else will beat me to it. Have a mighty good w/e. Byeeeee!
all is well over here. it turned cool yesterday, more autumn like. today RTG will pick the last tomatoes on the vines and I will go grocery shopping. we are finally starting to see some yellows/oranges/reds in the leaves.
cats are currently napping and RTG and I just finished breakfast (pancakes).
Thank you for being the early bird on SDMM today, dear friend! This song brings back the late 70s disco era, doesn't it? It's funny but, as I listened, I became convinced that "Love is in the Air" was used as the theme song for the TV series The Love Boat. After doing some research, however, I found that my brain was playing tricks on me, marrying two similar but different songs into one. This record was released in 1978 during the second season of The Love Boat. The theme song from that TV show has a similar sound and lyrics but it is not the same. I noticed that this hit by Australian popper John Paul Young was used on the soundtrack of a 2003 TV series Love Is In The Air: Stories of Australian Pop, a five-part documentary that celebrates Australia's pop music and its role in shaping culture.
Thanks for this Saturday toe-tapper, dear friend anne marie!
I haven't heard this song in so long, I had forgotten who had sung it. Good choice for a Saturday morning. I hope you're having a great weekend so far. I get to do a little shopping for things I need, and maybe for one thing I want.
Oh Anne Marie ... what a great song choice. Such an optimistic tune. You've got a knack for giving the people what they want! I'm up off my arse and twirling to this one.
I love this track. It's such a feel good number. Though I suppose that depends on what you happen to be feeling at the time - let"s not go there! Have a great weekend honey. JP
Last week I read your post on Friday and thought it was Saturday. This week it's nearly Sunday and I forgot that it is Saturday. I am totally screwed up.
I've never heard of John Paul Young, but he's kinda cute.
Mistress Maddie is ageless, not to mention priceless...
G'day, W.Q.,
