Oh my god! I've got Don Cornelius' hair! It's bad when you start remembering songs that you didn't know you knew. Thanks for this jog down almost memory lane, Highness. Now, where did I put my wheelchair?
G'day, W.Q., I don't recall this one at all, nor the group's name - but I see it got to our #16 in 1973.
Everything's still uncertain here. Mr Nasty's not returned from his being 'detained'. I can only hope that it'll be permanent but there's as yet no reason to think that he won't be back in a few days time, worse luck!. So tension is still in the air. And my wished-for move is proving much more difficult than I'd wanted. Otherwise, no choice but to keep on praying and hoping, though the first of these is likely to be futile.
But health-wise for me and my two co-residents it's okay. However, more Summery weather would be welcome. And you? All hunky-dory? (Apart from 'your' commander-in-chief, unable to control himself, firing off verbal missiles - which we can only wish that they don't turn into real ones.) But that aside, I trust that you and the 'other' three can settle down to enjoy a relaxing w/e. Byeeeeeee!
RTG got a new computer yesterday; the old one was 10 years on and dying and agonizingly slow.
all is well here; house chores and outdoor work have occupied our time. cats are taking their afternoon nap right now. I've got knitting and baseball to get to this afternoon.
it's a sunny day here; I have the windows open and the air conditioner off. birds are chirping. RTG picked more cukes and tomatoes from his garden. he will keep the tomatoes and take the cukes into work; too many for him to eat before they spoil. last week he took 6 cukes into his office & left them in the lunch room; in 2 hours they were gone.
Slow computers, W.Q.? Tell me about it! It's an experience we all come to sooner or later. This one of mine, a lap-top to replace the previous prehistoric and cumbersome monster desk-top, is now just 15 months old and continues to work like a dream. I trust RTG will have the same experience with his newie.
Any novel suggestions as to what I can do with cukes (careful now!) bearing in mind that I do NOT cook? Apart from making sarnies out of 'em or putting 'em in salads, they are as un-versatile as it's possible to be, to my mind.
Have a fine week ahead for yourself and your household - national and international news permitting! 'bye for now.
To be perfectly honest some of that hair looks armed and dangerous! Great song. You certainly know how to get us in the mood for a Saturday night in London Town Big Sis. Have a great weekend honey. JP&G x
It is a good thing I'm not a betting man as I would have lost my ass today. I thought for sure your song would be "War" by Edwin Starr. #TRUMPTHENAZI, #PIMPOTUS
Don's hair was the best!
ReplyDeleteThe girl are Supremes-lite, though.
But it's got a good beat and it's easy to dance to ... so i'll give it a 7.
FIRST!

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely song! I've heard it every so often when I was younger, but I never knew who sung this. That's for sharing this with us.
ReplyDeleteI hope your weekend is going better than mine. My back is doing the protesting today.

so far RTG's new desktop is humming along perfectly. RTG uses his cukes for salads only.
