Saturday Night Social Distancing Protest Party (Part 1)!

This is how I am feeling right now.

Dance like no one's watching.

Sing like no one's listening.

David said on Dr. Spo's blog that we might as well all dance.

FUCK YEAH!  You don't have to ask me twice!  Get down on it!

"Keep believing. Keep marching. Keep building. Keep raising your voice. Every generation has the opportunity to remake the world.” - Barack Obama, July 2018

  7. OMG! What a bumper XMAS prezzie for us! This collection will prob'ly last us until well into 2021 - and who knows where we'll all be THEN!`

Btw: and re your inclusion of YMCA, I see that Vill.P. (or their survivors/representatives?) have given the 'okay' to a certain party leader to continue using this song (as well as their 'Macho Man') at his rallies. Rather puts a dampener on it, don't it? - or shouldn't we get too het-up about it?

Have a nice, comfortable and SAFE w/e, W.Q. - for all chez toi.

    1. yeah, the dump using VP tunes sucks ass.

RTG went to the grocery store today; you can read about it on his new blog post. the panic buying has died down. I hope you are able to get to a local store for your/the cats needs, dear. is there anything I can do for you?

I am currently corresponding with a 70 year old man and his wife in manchester of all places (my paternal ancestral home). neil does a radio show on music from the 1920s on an internet radio station. as I listen to the tunes, I wonder if my maternal grandparents danced to said songs back then.

      smooches, dear king raybeard!

      Delete
    2. Haven't noticed a run on cat food here yet, W.Q. - though as for everything else, yes. But WHY all this panic for goodness sake? The possibility of our starving to death is rather lower down in the priority order at the moment than more likely possibilities. Surely all this insane stockpiling is going to come to an end soon! Just where is everybody putting all the stuff? When this is all over they'll all be open their own shops, though I'd guess a lot of it would have rotted before it could have been eaten anyway. Madness!

There's nothing you can do for me, W.Q. though thanks for the thought. At least I'm physically capable and mobile (just) which is a lot better than a lot are.

I've not heard of a radio station, or even just a programme, which specialises in 1920s music. My first reaction is "Is there enough of it?" - on record, I mean - but there must be.

I've just seen RTG's recent post and have left a comment there.

keep safe, y'all - speak to you later.

    3. I don't understand the hoarding either; fucking stupid, IMHO.

there is a website www.shoutcast.com; you can listen for free to over 87K stations broadcasting all different kinds of music. classical to pop to disco to jazz and everything in between.

the fact that we are mobile is a gift unto itself, isn't it?

I was just answering work e-mails from home. our company rep in singapore says things are getting bad there; malaysia is locked down until 1 apr, as is indonesia (her sales territory).

yikes! stay safe, dear raybeard and the pussies!

    4. We WILL sat safe, W.Q., thanks - and don't forget to do the same.
My closest supermarket this morning wasn't emptied of stock as I feared it might be, so got almost all I needed. Could be the start of a return of some semblance of sanity, I trust.(ALL our shops other than for food and medicines, have now been made to close).
My only concerns are for foodstuffs, which now ought to be okay - and I do dread what happens if one of my little 'uns need attention, though there's no reason to think they should - but it's just a dread of bad-timing which we'll just have to meet if it happens.

I see that you're really very fortunate indeed in having a truly great leader who was perceptive enough to have recognised and called out the pandemic before anyone else in the world did. And now he says it'll only last a few weeks rather than the months or more which the experts say it will - and then America will roar ahead in the fast lane again. Well, I suppose he MUST know! Lucky you! :-(

      Take care, SPECIAL care.

    5. the orange muthafucka wants everyone to go back to work NOW. BULL FUCKING SHIT!

I just returned from a trip to my local market. 2 single rolls of TP per transaction, a few paper towels, fresh meat case stocked but 2 packages per transaction. bread aisle stocked but 4 bread items per transaction. I was able to get everything on my list. pet food aisle well stocked. frozen food was being replenished by 6 different people. store was not too crowded.

    6. Yes, initial shopping panic seems to be easing now that people have realised they haven't got the space to store any more items they were stockpiling. Problem here now is that supermarkets are only allowing a few people in at a time - looooooong queues. Oh well. We SHALL survive!

      Delete
    7. no queues at mine, just walk right in. all adults shopping yesterday, no rugrats.

  9. Why did I read that as get down ON it?

And believe me, I will be playing each and every one. Not to bad here..as the population goes way down this time of year, a couple places still open for drink and dinner, only because not many here. Only locals allowed. But most things closed. This will really kill the season if this isn't under control by the start of the season. My whole way of way depends on those 4 and half months of money honey.

    1. I bet YOU know how to get down on a fat one, gurl!

christ on a cracker, I hope this shit doesn't ruin the summer season for you and all the businesses in p-town. do you do anything else for a living other than your drag?

spouse went to the grocery store this morning; the panic buying has stopped, but the fresh meat case was still empty. he got most everything on the list.

stay well and safe, dear pearly. one of these days I gotta meet ya!

    2. Stop at Maddie's, I bet she has tons of fresh meats!!!!

Before drag I was in food service, Having never been to college, and fell into drag, years here now, have been my saving grace. If push comes to shove, I have to move to Boston or NYC.

  14. Good evening! I wish I could dance. I came here right after I saw two Trumpers buy out all the paper products at a Dollar Store in Phoenix. I mean, literally all of the paper products while they were still in their delivery boxes. I'm furious at both the store and those hoarders.
