Brain Puke III

Lots o shit swirling around in the toilet bowl that is my brain.  Let's capture some of it here.

Went to a wedding yesterday (spouse's second cousin).  Good food, good company, but fucking tiny cosmos!  I would have needed 20 just to generate a good buzz!  But I lifted my single drink (I was driving) to all my boyfriends everywhere!

As I predicted, my baseball season is over; I am now hibernating til 2/12/13 (pitchers and catchers [HA!] report to Clearwater FL).

It's turning colder this week; the trees are also turning red and yellow and orange.  Grass needs another mowing though...

I turned the heat on at home last evening; damp and chilly + asthma = bad recipe.

I am still voting for Barack Obama because he loves Big Bird.  And he doesn't think that I, part of the 47%, am dirt under his feet.

Why do I look so fabulous at 58, whilst others in my age bracket look 70 or more?

I finally found a brand of Greek yogurt I like!

I lost 5 pounds last month!

There is a pork roast in the slow cooker right now; it's been braising since 7a in teriyake sauce.  My house smells fantastic!

Next on the agenda - make a loaf of beer bread to go with said pork roast for dinner.  Wine is already chilling in the fridge.

Spouse and I have the week off from work this week.  Unfortunately, we can't afford to go anywhere; $3900 for chimney repairs and $1500 in car repairs ate our travel budget.  BUT the house and cars are in great shape for winter!

There seem to be fewer grocery coupons out there for me to use.  But then again, I tend to buy store/generic brands whenever possible.

I need a haircut.

I'm going to call my trash disposal company to see if they will give me a second recycle container on wheels.  I fill up the container I already have way too soon; I need more space for my green initiatives, dammit!  In my 'hood, trash/recycling is picked up on Tuesdays.  ETA: I can have another recycle container for $5/month more.  WOO HOO!

"Wooking par nub, in all de wong pwaces..."

We have a white squirrel on our property, a mutant, an albino.  I rejoice in his difference!

The birds have left for the winter already; no morning songs to greet me.

Have you seen the video "Gangnam Style"?  Korean rapper PSY is the artist.  According to my company's Korean sales rep, Gangnam is a rich town, much like our Beverly Hills; full of phony poseurs and fronters.  Hey, Mittens - could this be your campaign theme song?

I still haven't finished reading the Sunday newspaper yet; however, I DID start a load of laundry!

Have a good week, boyfriends!

    1. sorry, dear; it IS catchy and was played at the wedding reception last night. the tweens and teens in attendance were bustin' some great moves!

since I get 3 weeks vacation, and it's a "use-or-lose" situation, that's why a week now. I think I still have 3 days to take before the end of the year. wish I could share with you!

  2. That's a lot of money for a chimney repair! Wow!! To bad I didn't live closer. I could have rebuilt it for a fraction of the cost.... and maybe an invitation to that slow-cooker pork dinner.

    1. basically the chimney was stripped (heh) of stucco, repaired and wrapped, more stucco applied, chimney capped, old 50s tv antenna removed from the roof. local guys did it in 3 days; they were clean and neat and didn't need me to hang around whilst they did their thing; I could go to work and not lose a vacation day.

you are ALWAYS welcome at my house, buddybear; pork dinner or something else!

  3. You Brain puke sounds a little like mine, minus the albino squirrel and the town recycling.
Living outside the "city" limits we have to take care of our own recycling!

    1. we pay for a trash company to collect our shit, not the township/county.

recycling goes out to the curb weekly, trash only monthly. the 2 of us and the cats make more recycling than actual trash! AND it's single stream recycling; no separating cans from glass from plastic! :)

  4. You should have just left the building materials at the top of the chimney and Santa would have taken care of it in December.

Coincidentally, Greg and I are having a pork roast tonight too. In about 30 minutes actually :-)

    Miss you xoxo

  6. Will said squirrel be safe? We all know how others of the same species attack another member who is, in some way, different, don't we? Only hope he makes damn sure that he keeps his nuts well protected.

    1. he seems to get along with the grey ones, and appears to be more active than the greys.

your paragraph is apropos of humans also. MY (invisible) nuts are always well protected; I pull them out as needed!

      smooches! :)

  7. Do you do the horse-riding dance yourself, A.M.? When one reaches a certain age there's always a danger of ending up bow-legged for life's remainder.

    1. I am slightly bow-legged already; I worry about an asthma attack were I to dance like PSY!

and at my age I don't give a flying fuck about danger! do it til you're satisfied!

    2. I'm trying to work out your comment re an asthma/bow-legs connection, A.M. I'm assuming that there's some ribaldry there which my 'innocence' prevents me from comprehending. ;-)

    3. nah, just making an innocent statement. nothing naughty.
