Saturday Night #BlackLivesMatter Protest Party! (Part 3)

This is how I am feeling right now.

In memory of Breonna Taylor.

In celebration of Juneteenth.

"Keep believing. Keep marching. Keep building. Keep raising your voice. Every generation has the opportunity to remake the world.” - Barack Obama, July 2018

  1. Appreciating the above welcome 'distractions' from these troubling times, W.Q., - troubling for a list of reasons - I do take some comfort and hope in that the BLM movement has generated a formidable momentum here in the U.K. as well as many other parts of the world, and which I fervently want at long last to lead to some quantifiable change rather than just peter out feebly as I fear it still could. Over here there's still an over-emphasis on whether statues deserve to be retained or pulled down - which does indeed need to be addressed - but not so as to eclipse more immediate problems in the field of discrimination.
Feeling quite considerable apprehension as to what will happen in Tulsa later today, particularly in the areas of demos, conflict, injuries and worse, and will awake early in the morning with considerable interest to hear the latest news - or perhaps we'll only know the true effects of this hideously timed and located rally after several weeks.
Btw - like 'someone else', until this week I'd never heard of 'Juneteenth' so I suppose I have to thank this 'someone else' for bringing it to my attention - but I won't.

Have a safe and peaceful w/e.

    1. it's OK if you never heard of "juneteenth" before, king. the dump doesn't care about american history.

land the saturday rally was a bust: 6200 people in an arena meant to hold 19K. videos of the crowd showed people sleeping/checking their phones while dump was mouthing off.

  2. Great selection! Ball of Confusion! That was such a revolutionary song for The Temptations. Prior to that everything had been finger snaps, hand claps, and box steps... and then they did a song that was totally unexpected... and it was a big hit.

  10. Ball of Confusion seems to be even more relevant today (once one stops shaking their lack of butt to the beat). Thanks for the cheer, Carebear. I needed it.

    2. I am feeling a lot better, Carebear. My balance seems to be a bit off and my vision is still kind of fuzzy, mostly with trying to read. My head keeps falling forward like a bowling ball balanced on a twig. I guess when you're stuck in that position for two hours it becomes a sense memory :) Hmmm, doctor or neck brace? We shall see. Keep the hits coming!

  11. A few I had never heard. My rap repertoire is limited. All the same, we had a great dance party Anne Marie. Marvin improves any day, hour or moment, and what a smile♥
