Saturday Night #BlackLivesMatter Protest Party! (Part 5)
This is how I am feeling right now. In memory of Michael Brown.
"Keep
believing. Keep marching. Keep building. Keep raising your voice.
Every generation has the opportunity to remake the world.” - Barack
Obama, July 2018 Kicking it old school again this week.
And Sly and the Family Stone!!! Singing LIVE on Soul Train! And... Under the Boardwalk. I used to sing that every time I was at the beach at Coney Island. You can't get under the boardwalk anymore; they filled it in with sand. Amazing how many memories these songs bring back. White America (and not the USA alone) embraces the music, the culture, and the style but not the people. As Sly (and the Family) said: Stand!
Oh my, I remember all of these! Sly seems to be enjoying himself so much, it's infectious! I used to wonder what a mice elf was and why did he want to be one! No one can touch Aaron Neville's voice on Tell it like it is. I can go on but I won't. I run the gamut from like to love with these. Thanks Carebear.
If the 'perfect person' is to be believed the firework display above Mt Rushmore must have been a sight to behold. The biggest display EVER, we are told. And why should we NOT believe him? He's the best informed person on Planet Earth, we've been assured, and said by someone who never lies, therefore it MUST be true. .
Excellent playlist. Thanks for all of the wonderful memories with that music. I remember Michael Brown as that isn't too far from where I have family in St. Louis. Unfortunately, we still haven't made enough progress from that day. Take care.
You could have just posted Lena Horne and I'd have been happy. That woman.......and her voice.
ReplyDeleteHappy Fourth to you both!ππΊπΈπ
