Saturday Night Dance Party!

This is how I am feeling right now.

Dance like no one's watching.

Sing like no one's listening.

"Say Say Say" - those were the days of real music videos!  PS - Linda, you're overacting!

This video must have passed me by at the time when it was Billboard's Number One for no less than six weeks in 83, reaching only #2 here. Not an easy record to dance to (I've just found) but none too bad, nevertheless - though I've heard a lot better from both Macca and MJ, even in those days while the latter was still good-looking, before he started melting and whitening before our very eyes.
Around this time Linda would probably have been coming out from the widespread public loathing of her, at least in the U.K., probably in part originating in her marrying, at that time, the last 'available' Beatle. Her memory has for many years now been looked fondly upon, not least assisted by her name still embellishing the veggie produce the firm she founded still churns out (and which I yet consume) - though arguably even more deservedly from ultimately losing her battle with the big C, which you, A.M., would especially appreciate. However, preceding one Heather Mills, what bigger boost to her memory could there have been?

We're bracing ourselves for the rump-end of your Hurricane Bertha, due to arrive here overnight. Although it'll have been much weakened by the time it hits us there are dire warnings on the news about what just may happen - and its current most likely path is right over this very town I'm sitting in. I've warned my pussies about what could be coming but I think they're taking things in their stride in a "Let's see" manner.

Otherwise, hope you are well - and same goes for hubby + three furry ones.
    See ya!

    1. when paul married linda, it didn't bother me cause I was a ringo fan and he was already married to maureen.

linda was never looked on with the hate that yoko was, though.

and it was so wrong for linda to pass that early. paul's kids warned him about heather, and they were so RIGHT! bitch!

did you and the pussies survive the bad weather?

    2. By the time Bertha got here, though a bit wilder than we're used to, she'd lost a lot of her puff. It was 'interesting' - and didn't bother the furries one tiny bit.

Yes, Yoko was certainly reviled from all directions, excepting from one man, John. Now, 30+ years after his death she's never been completely accepted and is still looked on as a bit of a curiosity. Tolerated, certainly, but there's no affection there like there is now for the sainted Linda.

As for Heather, replying to critics who accused her of just being a gold-digger, by saying that if money was all she wanted she could have done better than Paul McC. Yeah, right! She did no favours to herself or her then hubby by saying that. I just wished she'd disappear - like her own....you know what!

  3. I can't with MJ. Just can't. I may be the only person in the world who found him entirely overrated.

Still, I saysaysay have a good weekend!

  5. I think this is a silly video. It's hard to suspend imagination to have Sir M be a Western charlatan. :-)

    2. Here in Brazil we have singers who are famous and sing so badly! Mainly funk. You can't listen to the radio. If you want to listen to cool music you must have a CD or USB stick!

    3. same here. you have to listen to internet radio or your own CD collection for your favorite music.

  7. Oh my. A trip back to a less creepier Michael. Not a fan of this slight number which was inescapable at the time. Have you ever heard Linda's backing vocals separated from the rest of thr band? A thing of legend. Thank you for sharing. Wishing you the best? - uptonking from Wonderland Burlesque
