Saturday Night Dance Party!

This is how I am feeling right now.

Dance like no one's watching.

Sing like no one's listening.

"
Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White" - Put on your cha cha heels (yes, I AM looking at YOU, spo) and dance!

OMB, get a load of the outfits on the band members; a muppet was killed for each sleeve!  And Perez can shake his moneymaker; muy caliente, amigos!

Oh, this tune brings back the memories all right, though it was the Eddie Calvert version we had on one of those so easily-breakable 78 rpms back in 1955, when I would have been 8/9. (My Dad was always particularly moved by Calvert's 'Oh Mein Papa' for some reason.) I think there must be a vocal version of 'Cherry' somewhere, otherwise where would they have got the title?
Hope you are well and are enjoying life as a sexagenarian while feeling like you're still in your teens, even though the body resists.
I've got Blackso sleeping beside me who, in human year equivalents, must be an octogenarian by now. He's not been eating much lately and is sleeping about 22 hours a day, though his little black nosey is wet. My concern for him at his age can only increase more than what it already was, bless him.
Otherwise all is fine here and Summer is miraculously still clinging on, so not complaining on that account.
Have a jolly w/e - and see ya later.
    Byeeeeee!

for more details on the song. I was 1 year old in 1955. 78s - they spun round so fast yet were so fragile!

"enjoying life as a sexagenarian" - did someone say SEX? not in this house; that ship sailed a long time ago. I look 40 and think 30.

{{{{{hugs}}}}} to you and all the kitties!

    2. Thanks for details of 'Cherry Pink', A.M. Could have looked it up myself, but you know what laziness is. Or I assume you do.
Ah, those 78s! I once sent a whole pile of them crashing from shelf to floor, with predictable disastrous results. It didn't help that they belonged to the elder brother of my brother's best friend - all his precious Bill Haley, Everlys and Elvis early records. I was paralysed with mortification!

If I told you the last time I had sex, you wouldn't believe me. So I won't.

From my dynamic duo to your trying trio (but oh so loveable!) hugs, kisses (and hisses) and cuddles are returned manifold. Plus some from me too.

  2. AM, your line that "a muppet was killed for each sleeve" had me howling with laughter! Thanks, Girlfriend!

    Love, Janey

PS: I adopted a cat, named Ivy! She is so cool. I'd love to have you and my BFF come up and met her! :-)

  3. I love it. The women are well dressed and the men are in suit and tie. It was a different time. A time when people actually cared what they looked like when they left the house.

  4. I think I may have one of those Muppet-sleeved jackets around here somewhere!

  5. Those sleeves were actually one of the earliest examples of 'green' manufacturing. They were originally jackets but they cut off the sleeves for the band and sold the the rest to Sonny and Cher as vests.
