Saturday Night Dance Party!

This is how I am feeling right now.

Dance like no one's watching.

Sing like no one's listening.

"Come Dancing" - it's only natural!

PS - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BOB! :)

Do please send more healing thoughts to our Cajun.  He is still amongst us and would appreciate any and all comments you leave on his blog.

  1. M'ning A.M., from a li'l ol' town experiencing its first snow of the Winter - well, it's what they call a gentle 'dusting' really, nothing to get too excited about, though it's damn chilly and I've had to open up my 'pussy refuge' of a home - five of 'em sleeping here right now, taking max advantage of the warm.
Actually I'm rather afraid of going out, though don't really have to until Tues for shopping. The last thing I want is to keel over on the ice and suffer yet another injury to add to my weakened left arm, twisted left knee and calloused right foot. Three is quite enough to be going on with, thank you. I've now become one of those people who now walk so slowly (ice notwithstanding) whom, in earlier days, I would just want to physically shove out of the way as holding everybody up. It all comes around to us eventually. Dear dear!

And how are you? - after the relatively 'false' alarm of historically devastating snowfall - though better safe than sorry. Any more 'news' to report on the home front?

This video is another one that's not available for play in this country though I can easily access it through other means. The Kinks was one of my very favourite groups of the 60s, quintessentially English, especially with Ray Davies' perceptive lyrics. I've just had a look at the historical Billboard charts and see that my favourites of theirs at the time, 'Sunny Afternoon', 'Dead End Street', 'Autumn Almanac' and others of those mid-late 60s-years either registered only very lowly in the American charts of the time or didn't appear at all. This particular later release of 'Come Dancing' only got to #12 here in 1983 but reached #6 in USA, a position reflecting its high quality rather more accurately. It was big in the rest of Europe too.

So, with my wishes to you for a fine w/e, visualising you getting the satisfaction of keeping hubby and pussies warm, I bid you fare-thee-well for the moment. Now mind where you chuck those snowballs!

    Byeeee!

    1. we had a dusting overnight, and today was bloody cold and windy. but we went out for cat food an a bit o lunch. we had 5 inches of snow on tuesday, and we both stayed home from work.

I walk slowly on the snow also, and fuck anyone who doesn't like it!

earlier in the week I heard "celluloid heroes" by the kinks, a fave of mine, as is "come dancing" and "a well respected man".

nope, no snowball chucking here; the asthma won't let me.

  2. Hello Ann Marie,

We have found our way here via Mistress Maddie's parlour !

We clicked on your little film, our hopes high, but, alas, just a black box appears. It would seem that Hungary ( we live in Budapest) is too mean, or too bankrupt, to pay for the rights to let us see it. So, we shall have to amuse ourselves in thinking of you dancing and singing away to your heart's content round your own Drawing Room, hat on head!

We gave so enjoyed our visit and shall return.

  4. I'm a wee bit late this AM, AM! I probably shouldn't have had those last couple of glasses of Shiraz last night but, well, live and learn.
So I won 't 'Come Dancing,' at least not until the haze clears, but I will say thanks for the b'day wishes!
    Smooches!

We had light rain, but otherwise the weekend so far has been uneventful. Hope you're doing well!

  8. I'm with Fearsome ...such a fun tune. It's not the first song that comes to mind when someone says 'The Kinks' which made it an even more pleasant surprise. Thanks for the reminder
