Saturday Night Dance Party!

This is how I am feeling right now.

Dance like no one's watching.

Sing like no one's listening.

"Wishing Well" - I wish, I wish, I wish I had a wish...

  1. Oh my... I haven't heard this song in ages. Great pick to start the weekend!

I'm drying out here, but still not nearly enough rain to say the drought's over.

You nudge our memory banks again this Sat morn - and not at all unpleasantly. Evokes recollections of Berlin and Paris for me, though can't pin down exactly why. Prob'ly 'cos around this time I was shaking my tush extensively around in those metropolises. (I've just had to look up the plural).

Mr D'Arby got me a-wondering in a 'Whatever happened to....?' kind of way. So, with the help of a certain search engine, I discovered that this personage has laid to rest that identity of the past and taken up a new one under the name of Sananda Maitreya - and continues to do his 'thing'.
I remember that back when he had his trickle of hits he was ever so full of himself and believed he was the best thing the world had seen since the coming of sliced bread. Change of name not withstanding, he doesn't seemed to have modified that opinion.
But, never mind. This ditty will keep evoking those memories when I could move around niftily without fearing that I'd topple over.

So - how are things with everybody? We are still awaiting Summer here, anxiously watching the calendar as the year advances inexorably with nary a sign of what the weather should be like by now.
We've now got another five years of Conservative government to come, as so decided by the 'wisdom' of our people last Thuirs. So there's not going to be much respite from austerity for some time yet for us downtrodden plebeians, while those who are already comfortably well-off can get to feel yet more comfortable, the poor little darlings - they do suffer so!

Hope the pollen hasn't been getting up your sinuses too badly. With the same kind of problem as yours, though on a smaller scale, it hasn't been too bad for me so far. A fair bit of sneezing but not so much of the itchy eyes, which is where I feel it the most.

Regards to RTG and the kitty-kiddies. And we'll 'see' you all later.
Do have a happy, carefree w/e.

    Byeeeeee!

    1. "I was shaking my tush extensively around in those metropolises" - I would pay good money to see that!

I just put the air conditioner on today; it's so summer humid out there. for the past week the windows have been open, letting in the fresh cool air. not today.

sounds like the elections were a bust for the common folk. and to think that the reTHUGlicans want that here also pisses me right off!

the cat kids let me sleep in for mother's day AND gave me a classical music CD (van cliburn playing tchaikovsky).

  3. Thanks Raybeard. I, too, was wondering what became of TTd'A. I always liked the song.

We're having a take it easy weekend here; a little yardwork, a little wine, a little alfresco dining out back.

And MaxGoldberg is on the mend. This morning he showed us his new fang-less yawn and I was pleased that he didn't look as slack-jawed and inbred as I had worried.

    Have a great weekend AM!

  4. I, too, was wondering what happened to him. I wish I could send some of our rain your way but we're in an upslope condition where moisture from the Gulf of Mexico circles the region. Everything looks so green an lush. I hope you have a great weekend.
