Because YOU Asked For It!

The following people have requested the recipe:

Bob
Jon
Sandra
Jay
Dr. Spo

I aims to please!  And I challenge Blobby to make this for himself and 710!  I would also like to see Fearsome Beard try this!

tomato soup cake

2 cups flour
1-1/3 cups sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 can (10.75 oz) tomato soup (like campbell’s)
1/2 cup olive oil (or canola or sunflower)
2 eggs
1/4 cup water

*********************************************

preheat oven to 350 degrees F

spray a bundt pan with non-stick cooking spray

dump all ingredients into a mixing bowl

mix for 1 minute on low speed, then for 4 minutes on high speed

pour batter into bundt pan

bake for 50 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean (your oven, your mileage may vary)

let cake cool on wire rack for 20 minutes before removing it from bundt pan

frost with buttercream or cream cheese icing

this makes a nice spice cake; you would NEVER guess the secret ingredient (the tomato soup) because you cannot taste it!

  6. First time I've heard of pumpkin pie spice. Whatever can it be? What would happen it I took a teaspoon raw?

    1. "pumpkin pie spice" is a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and allspice. I would not eat it raw if I were you, noble ape.

    2. I use pumpkin pie spice in several recipes, including pumpkin bread.

  7. I have stored this recipe for future use. I got it from Larry Muffin. It's a tad hot this month to turn on the oven. I'll be taking you up on this challenge soon. We could turn this into a traveling shirt show....show me the cake baby.

    1. interesting; I got mine from the campbell soup website BUT I made several changes to MY cake recipe cause that's how I roll YO! I know you are an excellent baker, so...

I use my toaster oven to bake cakes all year round. less heat.

and I like the idea (however impractical) of a traveling cake.
