M'ning, A.M. You serve us up with an undisputed goodie this week. (If anyone disagrees I'll see her/him later!) This one held the top spot for four weeks here (Jan 1986) though I see that in good ol' US of A it 'merely' reached #2. I hadn't seen this video before, but read that the reason why is that it was banned on the grounds of the 'backing singers' of Douglas, Turner and De Vito (all starring in film 'Jewel of the Nile') not being musician union members. I make no further comment. But it sure is a fine record.
All well here - and you? We're getting a few hottish days (what you would call 'temperate') which is forecast to lose its edge over the coming week.
You see, I CAN write a comment without mentioning Blackso - who's still doing his mysterious disappearing act for several or many hours at a stretch, including being out for the whole of last night, leaving me to have to get up every couple of hours to check that he wasn't sitting outside. But he was there when I got up at 5 a.m. And now he's gone again. Heigh- ho!
Have a jolly w/e. Keep your pussies shaded and well-watered. We'll 'see' you later. Byeeeeeee!
When the going gets tough, I break out the gin and tonic! I was never a fan of Billy Ocean, not sure why. But I have had a continuation dream. Have you ever had one? One night I dreamt I was working in the perfume counter at the Nasa gift shop. And the next night it picked up again on my second day where I met a co worker who was selling foie gras.. so there was that.
Wasn't it Lee Trevino who invented the saying "When the going gets tough..."? I wonder whether he got a share of the royalties on that song.
ReplyDeleteExactly how rough do you like it, Anne Marie? Do you know what "gorilla rough style" is?
I googled lee trevino and can't find any references to that saying.
Deletewith regards to your questions, (1) wouldn't you like to know and (2) I am curious.
