Saturday Night Dance Party!

This is how I am feeling right now.

Dance like no one's watching.

Sing like no one's listening.

"Land of Confusion" - more so now than ever! :(

PS - HAPPY JIMMAS DAY TO JIM!

PPS - And a hearty welcome to new friends Blogoratti and Two Men & A Little Farm!  Drop on over and say HOWDY!

PPPS - Thanks, Jon, for pointing out the fucking puppet video clip doesn't work in this country.  I feex.  Fucking stoopid rules!

Don't think I've seen this video before though I notice that it did win a Grammy for 'best concept video' (whatever that is). The record itself reached #14 here in '86. Collins & Co did make some pretty memorable tracks in their time though when listening/watching I find I'm always having to draw a veil over P.C.'s politics. But we'll let that pass.
The puppets give away the age of this single, allowing Mr Collins to have some hair, before it all said "bye bye" - though I'm hardly the one to smirk! I've now got more on and under my chin than there is on the 'roof'!

Everything okay in Philly? Fine here too though one can almost smell the Autumn - sorry 'Fall' - in the mornings - after what was for us an indifferent Summer. Still, can't expect it every year, but just once in a while would be nice.
Regards to all. Have a perfectly happy w/e - and enjoy the final days of your present age by 'living it up' - 'cos they ain't gonna come back!

    Byeeeeee!

    1. unfortunately, I had to swap out the REAL video for this lame one because the REAL video would not play in this country. WTF?????

yes, the video is mos def dated. but the sentiment is not. witness squire gray's post from yesterday (the gun one). USA sucks in that area.

we had a cool week, but today the summer heat returns. and my allergies (mold and ragweed) have kicked into high this week. no signs of autumn yet. baseball season is winding down. and I have seen halloween things in the grocery store; WTF????? school has not even started yet, but the greedy merchants are rushing the start of the "holiday season" waaaaay too quickly this year.

have a good week, king; smooches to you and the pussies!

  2. Morning! I'm up in the middle of the night due to the record heat. The past few nights have not been pleasant, but at least the madness will end after today.

I remember that video back when MTV actually played music videos. :-)

    1. yeah, MTV USED TO play videos. that was a great time, wasn't it?

we have had pleasant (read: turn off the air conditioner, open the windows) weather all week; today the summer heat returns, so we do the reverse.

  3. Those puppets were taken from a British satirical show called Spitting Image. I think I saw a puppet of Michael Jackson when he was still black, which tells you how old they are.

P.S. The ape in Ron and Nancy's bed is no relation of mine!

  4. This takes me back.

Whilst living in California, I had a friend who had such a crush on Phil Collins--seriously---that whenever Genesis, with Phil, came to town, or, praise the lord, Phil himself, she would drag me to see them.
I liked them, I was not a fanatic.

Now, Sting, on the other hand, I chased up and down the West Coast many moons ago seeing him 7 times in eight days.
    Fan.Fanatic.Stalker. I'm good with that.

    1. I had a crush on phil back in the day also, but not a serious one like your friend. I put phil (and ringo and charlie and max) in the DILF category.

  5. Tried to watch the video.
    Received this message:
"The upholder has not made this video available in your country."

    WTF??!!??!!
Anne Marie, I think we are both in the same country, aren't we?

(there are times, during alcoholic-induced blackouts, that I can't remember my name.......but I can usually remember what country I'm in.....)

By the way, what is an "upholder"?
    It's not like a jock-strap, is it?

    1. A MIRACLE!!
I tried the video again and this time it worked!!!!
The fact that we are both in the same country has firmly been established.

Makes me proud to be a Brit - - oops, I mean an American.

    2. 1) an "upholder" is a bra.

      2) when I published at 2a this morning, I didn't realize WE couldn't see the video. so I changed the original REAL video to this.

  6. I've always preferred the early Genesis albums like Selling England by the Pound, Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot and the Wind & Wuthering. This is a catchy tune. Have a great weekend!

  7. Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Phil Collins has always, royally worked my last gay nerve. I have no idea why.
