Bonjour, A.M. Heavy heart this morning - latest news from Paris playing in the background (which you also acknowledge above). Will it ever end? I fear not, at least not in my(our?) lifetime(s).
Anyway, on a more uplifting subject, you give us a 1982 chart-topping goody on both sides of the ocean this week - for 4 weeks on this side, 6 weeks on yours.
Hope all is fine with you and you're keeping yourself as isolated as poss from a wicked world. All okay here, still unseasonably mild (not complaining at that!) though windy and wet, some parts around here really getting a real drenching. But it's been a lot worse - and if the rest of Winter gets no worse then a lot of us will be very satisfied.
Have, as always, a lovely and peaceful w/e. Byeeeeee!
I'm still wrapping up my Friday night. I'm really bummed out over what happened in Paris, so I did what I normally do to take my mind off things. I went shopping after work.
I love Survivor. I saw them in concert in 2006 when the late Jimi Jamison was with the band.
Posting the Marseillaise scene from Casablanca is perfect. There was news footage last night of people singing it as they left the stadium. Terrible situation.
My mother always says this world is nuts, and she feels sorry for the babies, What will the world be like for them. I agree......I shutter to think about it.
The first clip made me slip on my grey hoodie and tracksuit bottoms and run along the South Bank like Rocky Balboa. By the way it was raining I got wet. I had an Adrienne moment.
just returned from the grocery store. I have the windows open (believe it or don't) cause it is a BEE YOO TEE FUL day here! I can still sing the french national anthem from my high school days.
Bonjour, A.M.

I prefer internet shopping over brick-n-mortar stores for 95% of the stuff I buy.

ReplyDeleteglad we never had kids.
DeleteSuch appropriate videos for this tragic, grim time. Vive la France!
ReplyDeleteNot a drop of French blood in me, but I've always loved La Marseillaise.
A hard freeze last night and I'm dancing solely to keep warm.
I didn't plan the SNDP song for the events in france, it just happened that way. it was next on the list.
DeleteThings are getting out of hand. I long for a time without war or terrorism. RJJS

You do realize Jean, your scenario probably just got Anna Marie excited. And I don't mean to pick up the knitting needles.

DeleteLove Eye of The Tiger. And that was such a moving scene in Casablanca. Hope you're having a good Sunday, Anne Marie.
ReplyDeletePS Good choice after what happened. The pendulum is swinging back to crazy.

DeleteThat's intriguing. Why were you able to sing the french national anthem in high school?
DeleteI took french all 4 years of high school. I can still read french; spouse often asks me to translate for him.
DeleteBUT if I knew then what I know now, I would have taken spanish.
YASS! :) Eye of the Tiger... <3
