Saturday Night Dance Party!

This is how I am feeling right now.

Dance like no one's watching.

Sing like no one's listening.

"Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" - take me dancing tonight!

And here is something else (as if George Michael is not enough) to make your yuletide gay (caution: NSFW).

  1. M'ning, A.M.,
You've put a smile on my face already (at 7.30 a.m). Anything from the catalogue of 'Wham' in its heyday is total 'cheese' - though, one is forced to admit, it's always 'QUALITY cheese' of rare vintage!
I see that this ditty hit our #1 spot for 2 weeks all of (by Jove!) 31 years ago - though it was top of your Billboard charts for a full week longer than that - at a time when our George (not quite yet on the facial-stubble phase) was still holding onto the inner back wall of the closet. A lot of water under the bridge since then - as well as for him! But this merry melody gets my feet tapping and hips wanting to sway while still in the sedentary position. No good, I'll just have to get up.

All well here, with milder weather returned (albeit with winds and rain - but sooner that than snow, ice and frosts). Only perhaps three months of danger time to go!
And you? Are you now having to snuggle up with your pussies until the dreaded Winter is over?

Now, where's a napkin? I need something, ANYTHING, to remind me what one looks like - other than my own. Especially since you've taken us back to the 80s when I was spoilt for choice in all directions and in all shapes and sizes, getting my only respite on the disco floor. Ah, happy (and busy) days!

    Byeeeee!

    1. Ray, your life obviously wasn't half as "boring" as you sometimes make us believe. I'll bet if you took us back to the 80's, you'd have some incredibly hot tales to tell......

    2. Maybe, Jon, maybe. But I'd be willing to wager that many, even most, fellows of my generation had at least as eventful years, and a good many far more 'interesting' than mine was. I can also point out that I never even sampled, let alone experimented with, the 'recreational drug' scene when all around me other friends and acquaintances were. But having said that, true, there were certain times.......

    3. @king raybeard - I hope you did get up to shake your moneymaker! it has been quite warm here, temps in the 60sF, with rain on saturday. spouse and I go back to work on monday after a 4-day holiday weekend.

and like jon, I would love to hear about your dancing queen days, but I understand your need for privacy.

    4. A lot of those naughty 'active' days were lost in a fug of alcohol, A.M.(taken to boost my confidence) - and sometimes even now I'm not sure what happenings were real and what is merely wishful hoping that it actually did happen.

  2. George Michael can wake me up any time......

I've done a helluva lot of unusual things during my sordid existence, but I've never (yet) folded a napkin into a penis. I could expound on this subject, but it would be far too X-rated.

I hope you enjoyed your sushi on Thanksgiving. At first I was horrified, but then I realized you were right on track. The pilgrims didn't eat turkey during their feast - - but they consumed plenty of fish, lobster, and other seafood.

    1. so have you ever folded a penis into a napkin? ;-)

spouse had the sushi; I like my fish cooked, please. I had salmon and bluefish and shrimp and scallops, along with some teriyake chicken and some steamed pork dumplings. the restaurant is a BYOB, so we brought along a chilled bottle of cranberry wine.

  3. Ah George Michael! Didn't he write a song about self-love? Or was he caught performing an act of self love? Whatever he did, it brings a grin to my face!

    1. nothing wrong with self-love; if it weren't for self-love, I'd have no love at all.

  4. Ah, Wham! Takes me back to my days in Hollywood. My boyfriend Porn Star Bob had sex with Andrew (the other half of Wham!), leaving me wondering what George was up to that night, and why he I didn't get in on the partner swap. God, I miss the '80s...

  6. We are hosting a post-Thanksgiving Thanksgiving--turkey and ALL the trimmings--today and I awoke with a stuffed and yet somehow runny nose.

I may use that napkin idea, however.

  7. Was there any question then George Michael was a big queen? This song came out when I entered high school, so I have fond memories. But I always liked him more when he did his solo stuff. And not in the restroom, but his music I'm speaking. You mean to say Anne Marie you don't already use a penis napkin for every meal? I always use at least one

    1. hey, I thought he was str8, but WTF do I know, I wasn't born with gaydar.

I was married to the ex-husband and living in the washington dc area when this was a huge hit.

if I could FIND a penis, I would use it at the dinner table. you seem to have one in every room at the casa!

  8. Ahhh, Wham!
I do have to admit that I did shake my booty to this tune. I am about the same age as Mr. Michael and I was out as out could be in the day. I have to also admit that I held a bit of anger toward him for not coming out. But looking back now I see that in the time period while I could get away with being out in my healthcare career, being out as an entertainer would have ended his career before it started. Today I respect him for what he had to do as I would not have enjoyed being forced into the closet.

  9. I was in high school when this came out, and it brings back fond memories. Even though I was classified as a metal head back in the day, I loved listening to music like this as well.

  13. I think I was that color of blonde back in the eighties along with a few other shades. I'm late to the party this week as I was wandering around the desert outside of Santa Fe. RJJS
