Happy Holly Daze to one and all!
See if you can find "beavis and butthead", the 2 phillies ornaments, the yellow submarine, and "our first xmess" ornament! No, there is no "waldo".
To my commenters - fun fax 4 u:
My tree is 38 years old, a gift from my sister when I moved into my first apartment in 1977 (I had been living with the sperm and egg donors until then).
The lights and the treetop star are new this year.
The tree skirt was crocheted in the late 80s by a now-deceased former co-worker.
The tree is under four feet (a nod to spo) and sits on my sunporch so as not to tempt my curious kitties.
I hope your kitties won't climb that beautiful tree - - my brood of felines belong in reform school.
ReplyDeleteHave a great holiday week!
Cute tree, Anne Marie! Don't let the dogs hump it! Oh you've cats, not dogs. Hopefully they won't want to hump it!
ReplyDeletecats don't hump trees; at least mine don't.
DeleteI am grateful for your friendship, oh noble ape; happy yuletide to all at your dwelling place!
Thank you, A.M. - and the same plus more to you and ALL of yours.
ReplyDeleteIn my teen years it was I who was the family's Xmas decorator. I revelled in it and always got a huge tree, around eight foot or more, which had to be lopped shorter so as to fit in below the ceiling. Decorated with tons of glittering ornaments, lametta and fairy lights, it was a standing irresistible temptation to whichever was our pussy at the time (we seemed to go through them at an alarming rate) and there'd inevitably be those moments when all would come crashing down, with one scared feline running for cover as if the end of the world had been signalled. But after a few curses and sighs eventually it was all put up again - only to wait for the next time it all happened once more.
No such event nowadays. Not a trace of Xmas around here (save for the few cards I've received, in a small pile on the end of the settee)> Actually, even Mr Nasty downstairs has a tree in his window, to which he's welcome.
Happy days!
Merry Christmas!!!
ReplyDeleteMWAH! I am grateful for your friendship; happy yuletide!
DeleteLove the tree, and I bet the cats feel like giants next to it!
ReplyDeleteOurs, well, Tuxedo and Consuelo, like to lie beneath the tree as if they're outside cats.
Alas, MaxGoldberg just wants to eat the tree.

DeleteThank you for being a Musical Santa with all your great music and video selections for us to enjoy. Tree looks perfect. Was the photo taken at a different time or is it still really that green outside in Philly at the moment? If so, Santa's gotta get some wheels for his sleigh.
