Saturday Night Dance Party!

This is how I am feeling right now.

Dance like no one's watching.

Sing like no one's listening.

"Fall In Philadelphia" - homeboy RECOGNIZE!

"Harvest Moon" - cause it's AUTUMN time!

PS - Please continue to keep Fearsome Beard in your thoughts.

  1. Hi, anne marie!

I couldn't wait until Saturday night to come to your dance party. The performance of the band on Live from Daryl's House rocked me but good. Guest artist Diane Birch is fantastic. Daryl was in fine voice and the whole band sounded great. Neil Young is one of Mrs. Shady's favorite artists. Neil has one of the most distinctive voices in rock and it was wonderful to hear his easy going "Harvest Moon" and watch those happy dancers out on the floor.

Thanks, anne marie, and have a terrific weekend!

    1. FIRST!

I heard these 2 songs yesterday on WXPN, the UoP radio station. I thought they would be appropriate for the first autumn weekend of the year.

smooches to you and mrs. shady!

  2. Good evening, since it's still before midnight where I'm at. I'm in shock right now. My gaming rig downloaded the anniversary edition of Windows 10, and all of a sudden all of the garbage apps that didn't work now suddenly work well.

  3. G'day, A.M. - and, oh boy, you've really done yourself (and us) proud by giving us these two exceptional tracks. I've now been put into ever such a good mood, so - Look out World!

Don't think I've heard Mr Hall outside his partnership with hottie-boy John before. I know I'm being very late with catch-up but I'm now there - and this track is a surefire goodie.
But it's Mr Young's hypnotic 'Harvest Moon' that has just worked miracles in my soul. I see that this track did make the lower reaches of our charts (#36) in '93 but I'm sure I'd have remembered had I heard it before. A gentle, lilt of a lullaby-song - one to canoodle up to someone with. Flippin' MAH-vellous! Thank you. I'll be coming back here to play it over and over again.

All well here. Autumn (or 'Fall' to you) is taking hold only very gradually, but coming on it is, which is no bad thing as long as what follows it doesn't get TOO frigid.
How are you and TRG now following your respective recent 'events'? Far too much to hope that it's as though they never happened. It's all going to take a lot longer yet. But I hope that you're both able to start glimpsing the way out of the woods now, yes? (Or perhaps not).

Yes, F.B. is regularly in my thoughts, and I'm sure in many others, as he bravely goes on posting his admired bearded ones for us to wonder and ogle at. He's a lovely, warm individual and one I'm proud to call a friend.

'Speak' to you later. Smoochy regards to all you 'Famous Five' - though you can drop the adjective for RTG and replace it with 'honest'.

    Byyeeeeeee!

    1. see my comment above to mr. shady as to why these tunes are here. go check out his blog - it's FULL of great music!

spouse has a new post up about his "event".

cats have had their supper and some tuna water as a treat; they are now sleeping it off.

see my response to jon below for some of the things we did today. I also did laundry and baked RTG a loaf of white poppy seed bread and knitted.

baseball season is coming to an end quickly; next sunday is the final game. I then go hibernate until march, when spring training begins. I don't like other sports.

snorgles to all 2-foot and 4-foot beings!

    2. Yes, A.M. (would you prefer to be addressed as W.Q., by the way?) I'd actually got the Fall/Philly references - as well as the 'Harvest Moon' topicality - but forgot to mention them in my comment above, all mine of which tend to be on the long side anyway.

I've seen RTG's latest post and will comment on it accordingly.

Tuna water? Is that specially made out of a tin or carton for them, or you just draining it off tuna meat? If the former I must search for it but pretty sure it hasn't made it here yet.

I trust you'll keep emerging out of your hibernation periodically to give us your incomparable postings. Would be hard to survive the Winter without them.

Pussies, all three, are snoozing in kitchen at the mo. They ought to be thankful that the cold nights haven't yet started, and once they do they'll be worrying me nightly to burrow under my duvet.

Have a nice Sun, dear - and keep RTG (and pussies) well cossetted!

    3. the tuna water comes from "just draining it off tuna meat".

I answer to AM or WQ or hey you...and I don't give six shits how long your comments are. I only hibernate for sports on the radio.

it's currently 7:30a, I have coffee, and it's 69F. in another 30 minutes I will make a quiche for breakfast; after breakfast I will do a few house chores, knit, and listen to today's baseball game. the pussies are back in bed after their own breakfast.

    4. Must try that with tuna. I've always emptied it all into a cat dish in one soggy lump, but draining it off and serving it as a separate 'treat' should make it more interesting for them. Besides it'll be a change from their eternal liquid choice of milk (lactose-free) or tap water.

'W.Q.' it is then. 'A.M.' has a slight veneer of formality about it whereas as the other is double-layered.

Not only do you MAKE a quiche but you make one for BREAKFAST?!? Oh, making one for any meal at all is admirable enough (as you know I 'make' nothing, apart from a weekly Friday omelette) but to go to that trouble for that initial meal of the day when energies are low anyway, is just extraordinary!

    5. we just finished the quiche breakfast! eggs, cream, swiss cheese, real bacon bits, a (store bought) pie crust. easy peasy.

we usually make a special breakfast on sundays; spouse makes cornbread pancakes served with real butter and real maple syrup, for example.

  4. Hmm, that's a pretty woman on the keyboard. I wonder if she can play Chopin. Do you like bare arms and shoulders, Anne Marie?

  5. What an appropriate choice of songs to usher in autumn! I especially like "Harvest Moon" and the unique voice of Neil Young. Mellow autumn memories....

Still hot here in TN (and delightfully rainless!). I'm savoring the warmth. In a few months I'll be bitching about the snow and ice.
    Hope your weekend is beautiful.
And our thoughts are with Fearsome.
