Saturday Night Dance Party!

This is how I am feeling right now.

Dance like no one's watching.

Sing like no one's listening.

"Ball of Confusion" - that's what the world is today, hey hey!  And in the 50 years since this song was released, nothing has changed...

PS - HAPPY BIRTHDAY (on Tuesday) to Dave

PPS - DON'T FORGET TO VOTE, CITIZENS!!!!!

  1. I've always been tempted by the Temptations but can you believe I didn't even know this was their song? I hate to admit but this is the version I'm familiar with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ALRLZQf42s Still good, mind you, but not as ... tempting. Can't compete with those sweet dance moves and deeeeeeeep bass voice.

Thanks for the education / enlightenment! Keep on keeping on.

    1. P.S. Fearsome Beard's blog has inspired me to actively show gratitude. Without further ado ... THANKS, Warrior Queen for your great music selections and always ensuring your boyfriends' special occasions are acknowledged.

    2. awwwwwwwwwwwwww, shucks, freckles! (blush)

the bass voice singer (melvin franklin) is the only one left from the original temptations lineup.

and I had never heard the version you mention.

back then dancing was everything...along with war protesting.

  2. G'day, W.Q.
My lengthy intended post has just vanished into the air so I won't repeat it all. Suffice to say hope you and everyone are fine, as are we four.
We're suffering our first Arctic blast of the season now. Brrrrr. That, coupled with today being Guy Fawkes Day, there's every good reason to remain indoors.
Have a fine w/e, regards to all, and we'll 'speak' to you later,
With nervous fingers all crossed for the desired outcome on Tues,
    Byeeee!

"With nervous fingers all crossed for the desired outcome on Tues" - same here; RTG and I are going to our voting location early (after 7a) to avoid the long lines.

  4. "Vote for me and I'll set you free!"

    Hi, anne marie!

This is a great song selection for the weekend before the election. You're right. Precious little has changed in this country since "Ball of Confusion" was in the top 3 on the U.S. charts in the summer of 1970. I want to thank Freckles for turning me on to the version by Love and Rockets which I don't think I ever heard/saw before. Tina Turner also recorded a cookin' cover:

Here's hoping we have something to celebrate when we wake up to America on the morning of Nov. 9.

Shady sez: "Vote early ... vote OFTEN! :)

    1. but but but the rump sez: "early voting means the election is rigged against me!" what a dumbass!

I never thought I would see anyone other than a white male in the oval office in my lifetime. imagine a gay president, or an asian, or a hispanic - IT'S POSSIBLE!

    2. I'm a 60-something white male and I would welcome that outcome if the candidate was qualified and espoused peace and unity.

  7. Hell, I still feel drunk or was that the intended feel here?!? Tootes, I have already voted and I'll be glad when this election is over. If I see one more ad, any more news, my mailbox stuffed with bird cage liner....i just may have another gin and scream my brains out! So tired of all the vicious stabbing from both sides from all levels of races. Now play another song can you? I think maybe a ABBA song will help, hahahaha

  8. I already voted, but I can't wait for Tuesday night so I can finally put this election behind me. The dirty tricks in the past week or so have really soured me on politics. The GOP disgusts me. The FBI disgusts me. The mainstream media not only disgusts me, but they're a parody of what they once were.

I just want to give 'em all this... 👎🏼😠👎🏼

    1. In defense of the mainstream news media, they do an excellent job of reporting the hot new celebrity fashion trends.

  11. So Ball of Confusion is Planet Earth? I thought they were referring to someone's head. Charlie Sheen's ball looks pretty confused.

  12. I've never heard that song before, but it was fun to see the Temptations again.
It was 39 degrees last night. Not exactly cold, but a wicked reminder that winter isn't far away.

Let's go to the Bahamas, get soused, and SKIP Tuesday.....

    1. I know a few people like that. soldiers gave their lives for our freedom to vote. we owe it to them and to our country to perform our civic duty.
