Saturday Night Protest Party!

This is how I am feeling right now.

Dance like no one's watching.

Sing like no one's listening.

"Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" - we are (clap clap) gonna bring the dump dictatorship down (clap clap) (shakes pom poms)!

RESIST, INSIST, PERSIST, ENLIST! (thank you Hillary!)

ORGANIZE!  MOBILIZE!  TAKE A KNEE!  RAISE A FIST!

CALL OUT THE H8!  EVERYWHERE!  RIGHT FUCKING NOW!

Fun Fact: the movie "Mannequin" was filmed right here in Philly at the John Wanamaker department store, yo!  I can see Mistress Maddie playing the Hollywood Montrose role perfectly!

  1. One of my all time favourites! Love Starship. You certainly know how to set me up for the day.
Sorry I missed your other posts. I’d have loved to throw a question of my own in.
    Have a great weekend.

  4. Listen lamchops, haven't you shaken your pom pom's enough lately???

Was never a fan of this song, but can certainly understand why it was chosen.

Another fun fact, the rival store to Prince and Co, which was John Wanamaker's in the movie, was Illustra, which in real life was the Boscov's in Camp Hill. Where I broke my display chops. So I and Hollywood my dear do have a connection.

    1. "haven't you shaken your pom pom's enough lately???" - not as much as YOU have, dearie.

I know where the boscov's in camp hill is; and I had NO IDEA you started your illustrious career there!

  5. Be careful, Highness, I've heard, *cough,* that shaking one's pom poms can cause severe back injuries! I suppose it depends on the size of the things :)

  6. A true classic, W.Q. #1 on both sides of Atlantic in '87, and probably in most of rest of world too, and rightly so. It'll always remain high in esteem by people of taste!
I never saw the film but would have the added interest now of knowing that it was your 'local' (or one of them) - so one never knows.

Glad to hear that the Big Orange One (BOO) has rowed back, at least for now, on his intention of re-allowing the slaughter of endangered species. 'Crazy' would have been too kind a word. Killing animals at all is bad enough for me, but when it's only for purposes of human vanity it's more than doubly unforgivable. Let's hope his enforced hesitation becomes permanent.

Went to Oxford yesterday to have a look at some flats. Unfortunately all tiny, tiny, tiny. Someone the size of The Incredible Shrinking Man in middle age (or little Mr Cruise) might have been able to get comfortable in one. Doubt if I could survive, though. So, still waiting in hope.

Otherwise, all okay here. Trusting that you can say likewise. Weather swinging every few days between Autumn-nippy and extra-mild - I much prefer latter. Patchie's sleeping on table behind me right now.

Regards to you and to RTG - and additional-strength happy waves to the three little gurls. (Patchie had especially asked me to say that.)

    Enjoy rest of w/e,
    Byeeeeeee!

moving forward as well here. today is cold and rainy; blech. RTG worked 1/2 day; I did house chores; then we had a nice lunch out at a local restaurant (american diner food).

MEOW PURRRRR back to patchie from the gurls; smooches for you!

    4. Just read that an amateur 'forecaster' is saying we're going to have the most snow here since 1991 - but EVERY flippin' year we get these predictions that turn out to be so hopelessly wrong (always predicting extreme, disastrous weather!) and then they're just as soon forgotten when it doesn't happen. I'll believe it when we see it.
But yeah - roll on longer days and a nice, balmy Spring! (That'll keep Patchie and me contented).

  7. Goodness... that takes me back. On a trip to Philly once, the John Wanamaker store was still there. What a grand place that was. That's how long it's been. Never saw the movie.

  10. This was Starship's best song. I was a Jefferson Airplane fan back in the day when one pill made you larger and one pill made you small. #RussiaRussiaRussia
