Saturday Night Protest Party!

This is how I am feeling right now.

Dance like no one's watching.

Sing like no one's listening.

"I'm Doing Fine Now" - We the People will be doing fine on November 3, 2020, when we kick Donald Dump to the curb!

"Keep believing. Keep marching. Keep building. Keep raising your voice. Every generation has the opportunity to remake the world.” - Barack Obama, July 2018

  1. Couldn't remember that song - then I saw the date. 1972 I was cruising the Western Pacific. I don't think kicking is going to be enough. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLqdLD1y-aY

    1. muddling thru, lil bro. spouse is having his right hip replaced on 10/2, and I am still having some problems with my legs. the 2 of us make a silly sight limping along on canes. we are hoping come 1/1/20 we can both throw away the canes and start walking normally again. SMOOCHES to you and guido!

  3. Without getting too down, let's hope that we'll all have a future in which the title of this song can be exclaimed with true gusto. It's global heating that I'm thinking about above all else, a matter which gets scarier by the day. I wonder if yesterday's marches the world over will shame the culprits who are holding back, or even trampling on, the dreadfully needed progress in this field. Somehow I doubt it.
So, on that cheerful note, I bid you, W.Q., and your 'family' a lovely w/e.

    1. the dump followers are screaming "no climate change"; stoopid muthafuckas! I don't know which country is dumber right now, the US or the UK.

autumn is finally here, but it's still on the warm side; ok by me. cats are napping, spouse is composing his latest missive, breakfast has been consumed (bacon & corny cakes), there is a load of laundry in the dryer and I have 2 more loads to wash today. naps will be taken later, as will knitting. and I have a pork roast slow cooking for dinner.

SMOOCHES to all at your house!

    2. I saw on the world weather forecast this morning that New York temps will be back in the 80s in the next day or two - so likely to be similar for you. Surely for late Sept that must be at or close to a record. But not to worry as we've been assured by someone who knows, global heating is a mere 'Chinese hoax'!

I'm having a mightily disruptive day tomorrow, with plumbers coming to fix hot water (can you believe I've had none for TWO years! - only used an electric kettle) and toilet flush (can you believe it's not been working for ONE and a HALF YEARS! - all this time I've had to use buckets of water) - plus one other major job. It's going to cost in the region of £1,000 (=$1,250) for what's hoped to be just one day's work. My major concern, apart from it all going successfully, is that it's going to put all the pussies in a tizzy, particularly the more home-centred ones, Patchie and Bobby. As long as they don't run away and do return I'll rest happy again.

Best wishes to all yours too.

    4. It took just four hours, W.Q. - much shorter than I'd expected, though for £!,000 it turned out very expensive in labour terms alone - the necessary purchases must have cost not much more than £100 max. But it's now done and I now have hot water and working flush.
Pussies were seriously inconvenienced especially Patchie who's still using the bathroom as his sleeping quarters, night and day. They all kept well clear while the work was going on, Patchie waiting outside looking on at all the workmen's comings and goings. Don't think it did him any lasting mental damage. He'll have forgotten about it now and is back in his place of ensconcement.

  9. Another song and group I've never heard of. It sounds like a never ending intro to a song :) I do understand the sentiment of the title, though. Feel better soon, Carebear.
