"I intend to live forever. So far, so good." - Steven Wright
Had outpatient surgery #2 yesterday (not serious), and am not feeling up to a whole post.
Flying high on legal drugs post-op. My MD "dusted and cleaned" both legs yesterday, like he did on December 11. So I will leave you with these images:
Hope your recovery is speedy. Fly high!
I feel fuzzy headed yet. general anesthesia. "do not drive or operate heavy machinery" - one of my post-op no-nos.
Where is Maddie with her 'cakes' when you need something sweet to cheer you.
Which cakes? Bwhahahahaha! Their both moist and delicious.
I'll take ANY cakes at this point!
Sending good vibes!Carlos' card came yesterday and he said it was very sweet and Thanks you for it!
I know carlos' card arrived late, but I have been a mess lately. I apologize.
Well, the USPS doesn't help, and he got a big smile out of it, too, so that's always a win!
Did you say "dusted and cleaned"? Is that a D&C? Hoping you're back to yourself really quickly.
a "D&C" - hee hee! I no longer have those woman parts; I lost those due to cancer in 1989.that is my term for the operation I had yesterday. in simple terms, the MD ran a high-pressure water jet over my legs from ankle to knee. this cleaned off dead skin and infection. then he bundled each leg up in a soft wrap, which he will remove on tuesday. and he gave me painkillers and sent me home.
That sounds very uncomfortable. I hope it worked well and the discomfort will be brief. When I was a kid and I heard my mother say someone was in the hospital for a D&C, I asked her what it was. She told me it stood for Dusting and Cleaning. I believed her (for all I know, that's what she really thought it stood for). I didn't learn the truth until I was in my early 20s!
yeah, a woman's D&C is not pleasant. the procedure I had yesterday would have been painful had it been done in the MD's office with me being wide awake.I just had dinner and I took my first pain pill; this will knock me out in about 1 hour and will help me sleep. MD gave me 20 pain pills (oxycodone).
"High-presure water jet" I have never heard of such a thing. What and how does that help any pain?
the water jet just cleans off the legs. the painkiller drugs stop the pain. if the MD did the procedure in his office with me awake, he would be dead.
Be well, fast :-)
thank you, TDM!
Nothing can fell a WQ for long!Speedy recovery!Sassybear Www.Idleeyesandadormy.Com
Hope you are doing well, dear. We worry. Can't wait until you're up and dancing again. That said... thanks for the time machine. How fun. Adore all these. Take good care of your dear self. Kizzes.
I just wanna be able to walk like a human being again. to walk around the grocery store without pain. to walk to the end of my driveway to get my mail without pain. dancing is another story. thanks for the get well wishes, luv!
I want you to know I'm sending you all my good vibes for a complete recovery! Take good care of yourself and treat yourself like a Queen in the meantime!xx
thank you, jennifer. spouse has been a big help today, as were the cats.
Ah, the dusting of the legs, eh? Hope your not kickin' back those meds with a good slosh of gin, let that wait. Hope you're feeling better soon.
one of my post-op instructions - NO BOOZE! as you always say, "the legs are the body's engines"; how true, and you don't appreciate those legs until they don't work properly.
That sounds uncomfortable. I hope you're feeling better soon, and I also hope Maddie swings by with some cakes.
it IS uncomfortable, but the good drugs help.
I hope you'll be up and around soon. Here's to a quick recovery. What a shame to miss all the spring delights outdoors.
well, we are still in a high COVID area. I have been fully vaxxed, spouse gets his second shot on may 4. and my spring allergies were off the charts while everything was blooming. I can see all the pretty things from my sunporch for now.
I hope you will feel better soon and that this last bit of surgery will set everything right! Hugs to you!
thank you, debra. it ain't easy walking with constant pain.
Hope you are feeling much better, very soon. Take time, take care,
SMOOCH, dear penguin! just took a pain pill. I see the MD on tuesday for a progress report.
Here's fervently hoping for a speedy return to 'normality' for you - or for what you would count as being so. May you get there ultra-quickly. XXXX.
thank you, darling raybeard! I live-streamed the funeral for prince philip yesterday; a nice, quiet, dignified service. but QEII sitting all alone was so sad.RTG and the pussies (and the painkillers) are taking care of me. it's a nice sunny day, flowers are in bloom, my mood has brightened.hope you and the cats are safe and well.
We are all fine, thanks, W.Q. - though two of the pussies have got me concerned as they've started drinking lots of water - and I do mean LOTS. It can't be that they're particularly hot as we're still awaiting the arrival of Summer. I await developments with some nervousness.I get jab #2 on Sat and rather apprehensive about that too, recalling a most miserable 24 hours on the day following the first, which admittedly lessened quite quickly after the first day was over. If I know it'll not be worse than that again I can live with it. Got no choice, really. Hope your own recovery is advancing fast - and if so, may it continue its rapid progress.
the only problem I had after both shots was extreme fatigue, so I would sleep a day away. RTG got shot #1 on 4/13 and felt nothing; he gets #2 on may 4. I think after-effects depend on each person's genetic makeup.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. RJJS
thank you, dear! I hope this time will be the charm to get me back to normal.
Hope recovery is breeze! And that the legs feel like new!I love White Rabbit by JA!And yay for controlled substances! I may have to write about drugs, too!XOXO
it's difficult to get controlled substances, thanks to the muthafuckin' abusers. I just woke up 1 hour ago and the legs are VERY stiff (and not in a good way).
From the amount of Love I see here, you should be all healed in no time.
I DO have wonderful blog friends! they make me happy! I see the MD tomorrow for a post-op report.
Fly high, my love. Fly as high as you can while those nice pills last.Love,Janie
the nice pills make me sleepy, and when I am asleep I don't feel the pain.
I hope all is going well in recovery Tits McGee! Does this water jet thingy help with the pain? or just clean your legs? I sent you a email Friday, but you may have not seen it yet toots.
the water jet is the cleaner; think of it as a power washer used to clean the siding on a house. the controlled substances take away the pain. I have not seen your e-mail yet. did you get vaxxed yet?
Well take care you! I always get mixed up with your emails, can't remember which one I sent it to. I get my first vaccine on April 26th. I am getting it through my mother's rehab which is offering them to co-workers immediate family members only. I just hope all the gin I drink doesn't counter it. Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!I love you dear one.
what a lovely card you sent me; thank you! after you are fully vaxxed, and my legs are healed, we MUST do a 3 hour lunch. I need some maddie to brighten my day.
Hope you are feeling good today!! Get better sweetie!!
I just saw the MD today; I had the bandages removed and new ones put on. they look pink and pretty, instead of green and slimy. thank you, JM! SMOOCH!
(((((Carebear))))) I hope that didn't hurt.
I didn't feel the operation cause I was sleeping like a baby. I'm glad it's over though. thanks for the hugs, duchess; they sure help! :)
Take care and speedy recovery, anne marie in philly.
thank you, dear! :)
