Since the summer solstice is next Saturday, I figured this would be my final Sunday spring scenes post, with a sweet surprise at the end. Look at all that alliteration; sounds like steam escaping!
Our tomato plant is reaching out, growing at an enormous rate and has designs on eating Abby!
ReplyDeleteI think plants are vegetarians, no? abby should be safe. but have the gnomes earn their beer by watching over this plant 24/7.
DeleteI sure hope the new cats are at peace with each other finally!!! I don't know how you bake so many things at once. I have no patience, and can't stand cooking baking this times of year. Just give me my gin or mojitos dear!!!!! And speaking of red hot pokers..... Nevermind. Those purple flowers aren't Russian sage are they? We have a tons of it here smells so good and it has tons of bees!
ReplyDeletenot yet; cats are still hissing at each other.
DeleteI baked the cake in the toaster oven and the bread in the bread machine. 2 goodies at once!
Spring!!??!!! It's in the 90s in Smallville today--as well as up in Charlotte where we spent the day!!
ReplyDeleteLoving the bread and cake, and peppers and toms and flowers.
Also loveloveloving the new Furry kids; totes adorbs.
the new kids are getting more used to us every day.
DeleteWow - tomatoes and pepper, rye bread, chocolate cake with cream cheese icing - - you're making me hungry!!!
ReplyDeleteI love those cats!
No such thing as spring in Texas. It's already been over 100 degrees numerous times.
well, go get something to eat!
Deletemy new kids came from the SPCA.
we hit 94 this week.
Nice pictures! I love all you people with green thumbs! I can't grow weeds unless someone else plants them and waters them!
ReplyDeletePeace <3
Jay
thanks. the flowers were all planted by the previous homeowner; they just pop up year after year.
DeleteHeh Heh Heh
ReplyDeleteYou said "Poker"
yeah! ;-)
DeleteLovely pictures... both the delicious baked goods and the flowers. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteyou are most welcome, dear; smooches!
DeleteLovely! Remember Scott Thompson as Buddy Cole? "Such a lot of fuss over a few extra s's."
ReplyDeleteI LOVE BUDDY COLE! :)
DeleteBaking and flowers are two of my favorite things.
ReplyDeleteI do the baking, spouse does the flowers.
DeleteI can almost smell that Rye Bread from here. Seeded, yet!
ReplyDeleteyep, the breadmaker does the work, and spouse likes it with caraway seeds.
DeleteOMG X 2!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I am NOT talking about your cakes.
ReplyDeleteI was going to leave this until I recovered my composure, but do tell me now - did Gigi and Oreo already know each other? And what is Nyla's reaction - all claws out or couldn't care a flying f*ck? Oh, I'm lost for words. I'm in L-O-V-E, at long last.
(Now don't torture me by not reporting regularly on their progress - with illustrations!)
oreo and gigi came from our local SPCA on may 18. nyla is claws out, hiss, spit, growl. and they back at her. I am afraid to leave them alone with each other whilst we are at our jobs.
Deleteon the plus side, gigi sleeps with her daddy and nyla sleeps with me. gigi and oreo love to rub up against us and give us kisses.
socialisation will take more time.
re Nyla: Oh dear! I do hope she comes to appreciate her new co-residents quickly and get to know that she has nothing to fear. I suppose she sees them as a threat, which is understandable considering that she saw herself as unique, which she had been. But let's hope that she'll come to appreciate them as much as you and I do. Please give occasional updates.
Deleteyes; it is quite an undertaking we have done here. onward!
DeleteWhat kind of tomato and pepper plants ?
ReplyDelete2 - red bell sweet pepper
Delete1 - orange bell sweet pepper
1 - tami g grape tomato
2 - big boy tomato
The Cheaper Half is the garden grower supreme here but I would happily do my bit by watching him while munching on that thick icing cake....!!
ReplyDeletespouse also does well in the garden; he likes getting his hands dirty. I mos def DO NOT!
Deletethe cake and icing were not from a box, but from my own hands mixing ingredients.
